Disney's new musical adaptation of FREAKY FRIDAY will be coming to the Disney Channel this summer! The TV movie stars Broadway's Heidi Blickenstaff as one half of the mother-daughter duo at the center of the body-swapping story. She will be joined by Cozi Zuehlsdorff as the other half of the pair.

After a mini-tour around the United States beginning in 2016, the new musical adaptation of FREAKY FRIDAY will be coming to the Disney Channel over the summer. WORKING is the extraordinary genre-defining musical from Grammy and Academy Award-winner Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell) based on Studs Terkel's best-selling book of interviews with the American workforce: Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About What They Do. The show has been adapted by Stephen Schwartz and Nina Faso, the creators of Godspell and Rags, with additional contributions by Gordon Greenberg.

The body-swapping duo in Cleveland Play House's (CPH) musical production of Disney's Freaky Friday are played by Heidi Blickenstaff (Broadway's Something Rotten!) and Emma Hunton (Broadway's Spring Awakening). Blickenstaff and Hunton reprise their roles as Katherine Blake (mother) and Ellie Blake (daughter) from La Jolla Playhouse's production, which launched a three-theatre co-production that will move to Cleveland Play House and conclude with a run at Houston's Alley Theatre. Abingdon Theatre Company presents its first musical with the New York premiere of The Boy Who Danced On Air, with music by Tim Rosser and book and lyrics by Charlie Sohne, winners of 2015 Jonathan Larson and Mary Rodgers/Lorenz Hart awards. Directed by Abingdon Theatre Company Artistic Director Tony Speciale, The Boy Who Danced On Air plays four weeks only, May 15 through June 11, at the June Havoc Theatre (312 West 36th Street). The announcement of today's Tony Award nominations marks this as a week for celebration and reaffirms the commitment of organizations that protect the survival of the arts.
