TUCK EVERLASTING, the new musical based on Natalie Babbitt's beloved best-selling novel of the same name, is currently in previews at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street). With direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw (Something Rotten!, Aladdin, The Book of Mormon), Tuck Everlasting will officially open on Broadway on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. At the 2016 edition of BROADWAY BACKWARDS, Broadway legend Chita Rivera brought her own brand of 'razzle-dazzle' to Kander and Ebb's 'All I Care About is Love' from CHICAGO. The actress delivered an unforgettable take on swarmy lawyer Billy Flynn, surrounded by a bevy of feathery beauties, many from the original 1996 CHICAGO revival cast, including Nili Bassman, Mindy Cooper, Mamie Duncan-Gibbs, Gabriela Garcia, Mary Ann Lamb, Dana Moore and Solange Sandy. The sold-out audience at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre was dazzled Monday, March 21, 2016, by this year's stirring edition of BROADWAY BACKWARDS. The annual celebration, where men sing songs originally written for women and vice versa offering this audience the chance to see LGBT stories told through the great songs of musical theatre, set a new fundraising record. The evening raised an incredible $480,287 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City. They aren't the only ones with love for The Wiz though. In celebration of the third annual International Day of Happiness at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the NGO Relations and Advocacy Section of DPI held an expert global panel yesterday, exploring scientifically proven data that demonstrates the inverse relationship that wealth (both national and personal) can have on happiness. Broadway Conductor and Composer Mary-Mitchell Campbell, currently serving as musical director of Finding Neverland, and Founder of Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP) served as the event's Moderator. Campbell called upon her friend Jonathan Groff, who is currently appearing onstage in Hamilton, to celebrate the special occasion on Good Day New York. Klendez is at it again! Stafford Arima just directed a a holiday music video featuring Broadway favorites Lindsay Mendez and Derek Klena. The song, 'I Got All I Need (This Christmas)' was written by Lynne Shankel and was shot at Joe's Pub and around the city. The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts celebrated its highly anticipated grand premiere with the Broadway & Beyond opening night concert-the first performance to be held in its new Walt Disney Theater.

On Saturday, November 15th, the arts community in Central Florida forever changed with the official opening of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. On that night, Broadway icon Richard Jay-Alexander brought together an incredible group of talent to unveil the Walt Disney Theatre with BROADWAY & BEYOND, and BroadwayWorld was there!
