Broadway's new Comedy Musical, TOOTSIE, opened to critical acclaim last night at the Marquis Theatre - and people can't stop talking about Dorothy Michaels! The toast of the town, Dorothy recently stopped by Live with Kelly & Ryan, The View and ABC's Backstage with Sandy Kenyon. 

The Marquis Theatre was hoppin' last night, April 23, 2019, as Broadway welcomed one of the final musicals of the 2018-19 season. Tootsie, starring Santino Fontana, Lilli Cooper, Sarah Stiles, John Behlmann and more, celebrated its opening night at Pier 60 and BroadwayWorld was there!

Last night, Dorothy Michaels officially came to Broadway with the opening of Tootsie at the Marquis Theatre, and cast member John Behlmann took over BroadwayWorld's Instagram Story all throughout the most important night and gave us an inside look at everything from pre-show to the after party! Tootsie, which opens tonight at the Marquis Theatre, tells the story of a talented but difficult actor who struggles to find work until one show-stopping act of desperation lands him the role of a lifetime - as the star of a new Broadway musical.

Earlier this week, the company of Tootsie celebrated its opening night at the Marquis Theatre. Before they took their bows, the cast took a little break from rehearsals to have some fun  with a little game we cooked up for them- Tootsie or Dare!

The Tony Awards and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) today announced a group of talented actors serving as Ambassadors for the 2019 Excellence in Theatre Education Award.

SHOWTIME will premiere its new one-hour drama series CITY ON A HILL starring Golden Globe winner and Emmy(r) nominee Kevin Bacon (The Following) and Screen Actors Guild(r) award winner Aldis Hodge (Underground) on Sunday, June 16 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Production on the 10-episode series will begin in February in New York and Boston. The announcement was made today by Gary Levine, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc., at the Television Critics Association's Winter Press Tour.
