Adjudication in the 2018 Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist category resulted in a tie between Alan Schmuckler and Amanda Yesnowitz, and the 2018 Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to Christian Duhamel.

SKB Records has launched the groundbreaking new music and video series LENA HALL Obesssed from the Tony Award winner and Grammy nominee that begins today, Friday, January 5. Hall, a singular artist who authentically and explosively brings the worlds of Rock and Broadway together, will release a monthly series of EPs over the course of 2018. Obsessed consists of 12 EPs, each released on the first Friday of every month, featuring stripped-down, emotionally-intensive covers of one artist or band with whom Lena is obsessed. Lucas Steele received a 2017 Tony Award nomination for his performance as the dastardly Anatole in the Broadway spectacle Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812. In the wake of the show's closing, the young star has released a short film titled, 'One Last Time' depicting one final trip to Broadway's Imperial Theater.

The Great Comet might have played its final Broadway show yesterday, but creator Dave Malloy is already hard at work, preparing a new adaptation of a literary classic for the stage. 

NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812 played its final performance on Broadway on Sunday, September 3rd at the Imperial Theatre. The company has kissed their last gypsy lovers and Andrey is finally here, the only thing left is to say goodbye. Director Rachel Chavkin took the stage at the final curtain call and gave a heartfelt speech of thanks and farewell, watch below.

NATASHA, PIERRE, AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1812, one of the most unique pieces of theatre to soar over Broadway, closes today. Cast, creatives, and fans are all mourning the loss while also taking the chance to celebrate the immersive new work. Director Rachel Chavkin took to Instagram and bid the show a touching adieu.

As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this week, Tony and Emmy Award winner Mandy Patinkin will make his long-awaited return to Broadway in NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812, starring as 'Pierre' from August 15 - September 3 only. Okieriete 'Oak' Onaodowan, currently playing the role, will play his final performance as 'Pierre' on August 13.
