Andrew Bird Confirms Spring 2020 Tour Dates

Today, Grammy nominated, internationally acclaimed multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Andrew Bird announces the spring 2020 “My Finest Work Yet” tour (including rescheduled dates) with support from Erika Wennerstrom from the Heartless Bastards. The two recently collaborated on a new version of Bird's “Manifest,” and this tour will provide them an opportunity to perform the track live for audiences across the United States. Bird will also be making a special appearance at this Sunday's WXRT Holiday Jam at The Vic Theatre in Chicago.

Early James To Release Debut Album SINGING FOR MY SUPPER

Early James, an Alabama native and the latest signing to Dan Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound roster, releases his debut album, Singing for My Supper, via Easy Eye and Nonesuch Records on March 6, 2020. The album spans hard-charging blues, wistful folk, and ages-old pop crooning, anchored by the singer's voice that oscillates from gravel-gruff shout to a honey-smooth whisper. James' inspirations run from Fiona Apple and Tom Waits to the Southern gothic poets, as heard in the album's darker themes and in the wry humor with which he writes about them. Singing for My Supper is available for pre-order on all formats here.

This new version premiered this morning via KCRW's flagship show “Morning Becomes Eclectic” and is out now on Loma Vista Recordings.

GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter and performer Brandi Carlile is nominated for three awards at the 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards: Song of the Year (“Bring My Flowers Now” performed by Tanya Tucker), Best Country Song (“Bring My Flowers Now” performed by Tanya Tucker) and Best Country Duo/Group Performance (“Common” performed with Maren Morris). “Bring My Flowers Now” was written by Carlile, Tucker and Carlile's longtime collaborators and bandmates Tim and Phil Hanseroth and is from Tucker's acclaimed new album While I'm Livin'—co-produced by Carlile and Shooter Jennings—which is also nominated for Best Country Album.

Brandi Carlile Confirms Second-Annual Headline Performance at The Gorge

GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter and performer Brandi Carlile will make her triumphant return to The Gorge next year on Saturday, June 6, 2020 for “Echoes Through The Canyon” with special guests Sheryl Crow and Yola. The special performance comes a year after Carlile's headline debut at the venue, of which The Seattle Times praised, “a jubilant success-toasting birthday set…Carlile ripped off vibrato-soaked runs that could go toe to toe with any of this decade's Top 40 bombshell vocalists.” Tickets for the event go on-sale this Friday, November 22 at 10:00am PT.

La Orquesta Juvenil de Los Ángeles (YOLA, por sus siglas en inglés), 69 estudiantes del Conservatorio Nacional de Música (CNM) y de la Escuela Superior de Música (ESM) del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL), así como 21 miembros de la Orquesta Escuela Carlos Chávez y diez infantes de los semilleros creativos pertenecientes al Sistema de Agrupaciones Musicales Comunitarias del Sistema Nacional de Fomento Musical (SNFM) de la Secretaría de Cultura, ofrecieron un ensayo abierto al público que se convirtió en clase magistral gracias a las aportaciones de Gustavo Dudamel y Arturo Márquez.

De ellos, 96 pertenecen a la Orquesta Juvenil de Los Ángeles (YOLA, por sus siglas en inglés) y 69 estudiantes del Conservatorio Nacional de Música y la Escuela Superior de Música −ambas del INBAL−, así como 21 miembros de la OECCh y 10 niños de los semilleros creativos pertenecientes a los Sistemas de Agrupaciones Musicales Comunitarias Bajío de Guanajuato; Música para la Vida (Muvi), de San Luis Potosí, y Jalisco es Música, de Jalisco.

En el marco de las presentaciones que Gustavo Dudamel realizará en la Ciudad de México con la Filarmónica de Los Ángeles, el director venezolano, fiel a su compromiso de exhortar el intercambio cultural y la unión entre los países latinoamericanos, sostendrá un encuentro académico con estudiantes de las escuelas de música del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL), con miembros de la Orquesta Escuela Carlos Chávez (OECCh) y niños de los semilleros creativos que coordina el Sistema Nacional de Fomento Musical (SNFM), en el Palacio de Bellas Artes, el próximo miércoles 13 de noviembre.

Ninety-six musicians from YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles) will join Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil on a tour of Mexico City from November 10 to 15. The YOLA Mexico City tour orchestra includes musicians from three YOLA sites – YOLA at EXPO Center, YOLA at HOLA, and YOLA at Torres – and is the first-ever cross-site full orchestra to go on an international tour with the LA Phil.
