SOMETHING ROTTEN! opened at Appleton's Fox Cities Performing Arts Center on October 23 and will continue to play through October 28. SOMETHING ROTTEN! offers laughs, entertaining dance numbers, and enough musical theater references to delight any fan.

There's nothing rotten about Something Rotten! When the Bottom brothers, Nick and Nigel (Matthew Michael Janisse and Richard Spitaletta) find out that their newest play about Richard II is in direct competition with another play about the same exact thing written and directed by rock star-status-achieving Shakespeare (Matthew Baker), they scrap the entire script and seek out a new idea.

Something Rotten! is a completely original new musical directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw, known for his work on The Book of Mormon and Disney's Aladdin that is opening the Broadway in Detroit season on September 25th at the Fisher Theatre. The hilarious new musical comedy tells the story of brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, stuck in the shadow of Renaissance rockstar, Will Shakespeare. When the next big thing in theatre involves singing, dancing, and acting at the same time, the Bottom brothers set out to write the world's very first musical! BroadwayWorld Detroit had a chance to speak with Michigan-born Julian Burzynski Jr., an ensemble member in the show, who is loving every moment of being part of the show before it opens here on September 25th in Detroit. Work Light Productions is proud to announce the complete cast for the National Tour of SOMETHING ROTTEN!, which makes its Wisconsin premiere at Overture Center Tuesday, Oct. 9-Sunday, Oct. 14. Fox Stage Productions and Kevin McCollum have announced the creative team for the new Broadway-bound musical MRS. DOUBTFIRE. Four-time Tony Award Winner Jerry Zaks, (most recently represented on Broadway by the hit revival of Hello, Dolly!) will direct, joined by Tony Award Nominees (for Something Rotten!) John O'Farrell and Karey Kirkpatrick (book) and Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick (music and lyrics).

The GRAMMY Museum® and Warner Bros. have teamed up to present 'The Get Animated Invasion,' an interactive exhibit that celebrates the music that generations have come to know and love from Warner Bros. iconic animation shorts and films. Warner Bros. has a long history of invading pop culture though music, from popularizing classical compositions to creating mainstream hits that stand the test of time; the latest of which is the animated feature Smallfoot, featuring an all-star voice cast and original music including a new song from Niall Horan. The pop-up exhibit will take over the GRAMMY Museum's second floor, Aug. 19–Sept. 9, 2018, making this Get Animated's second pop-up exhibit following their inaugural invasion in New York last fall.
