Avenue Q, a musical comedy featuring puppets controlled by human actors premiered off-Broadway at the Vineyard Theatre in 2003. Opening to rave reviews and claiming Tony Nominations for Best Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Book all of which it won and several nominations in the acting categories, Avenue Q proved to be a juggernaut of its time. The Billy Rose Theatre Division at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts has made the archives of Joan Marcus and Carol Rosegg publicly accessible. The collected work by the prominent theater photographers was acquired in 2018. It represents one of the largest digital acquisition of photography ever made by the Library.
