The 2022 Outer Critics Circle Award winners were honored on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Bruno Walter Auditorium of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

The winners of the 2022 New York Drama Critics' Circle Awards were announced during a private ceremony on Friday, May 20 at Feinstein's/54 Below. The stars turned out for the exclusive event including Victoria Clark, LaChanze, Jeanine Tesori, David Lindsay-Abaire, Alli Mauzey, and more!

A trio of creatives are making their Moonlight debuts and are leading Moonlight Stage Productions’ second show of its 41st summer season, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” with performances at the Moonlight Amphitheatre. Featured amongst the cast are some of San Diego’s most treasured theatre veterans in starring roles.

A-list guests at the event included Patti LuPone (Company, Evita, Gypsy), Ben Vereen (Pippin, Fosse, Wicked), Sutton Foster (The Music Man, Anything Goes, Thoroughly Modern Millie), and freshly-minted 2022 Tony Award Nominated Actresses Shoshana Bean (Mr. Saturday Night, Wicked) Gabby Beans (Skin of Our Teeth, 'Succession,' 'House of Cards'), and Lear deBessonet (Encores! Into The Woods, Hercules, Miss You Like Hell), who will present the esteemed awards.

Performances officially began last night for New York City Center Encores! production of Into the Woods. Directed by Encores! Artistic Director Lear deBessonet with music direction by Encores! Music Director Rob Berman and choreography by Lorin Latarro, the special two week run of Into the Woods (through May 15) is dedicated to the memory of the legendary Stephen Sondheim. The 37th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway was presented on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at NYU Skirball.

Taking home top prizes were Kimberly Akimbo and Oratorio For Living Things. Special honorees this year included Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Deirdre O'Connell and Playwrights' Sidewalk Inductee, David Henry Hwang.
