Ever sat on a plane, or a train, or even in a theatre seat and wondered about the lives, choices, and stories of the strangers around you?  H THE COAST STARLIGHT by Keith Bunin is making its world-premiere at The La Jolla Playhouse through September 15th and explores what is left unsaid.

Lincoln Center Theater, under the direction of André Bishop, has announced it will produce a new musical during its 2019-2020 season. FLYING OVER SUNSET, with a book and direction by James Lapine, music by Tom Kitt, and lyrics by Michael Korie, will feature choreography by Michelle Dorrance, and will begin previews March 12, 2020 and open on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Carmen Cusack, Harry Hadden-Paton and Tony Yazbeck will head the cast with additional casting to be announced at a later date.

SELLING KABUL is a powerful, raw, riveting and highly relevant new drama that connects on a level seldom seen and rarely felt. The world premiere run continues on the Nikos Stage at Williamstown Theatre Festival through July 20.

La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for its world-premiere production of The Coast Starlight, by Keith Bunin (Playhouse's Without Walls production of Sam Bendrix at the Bon Soir), directed by Tyne Rafaeli (Off-Broadway's Usual Girls). Commissioned by the Playhouse, The Coast Starlight runs August 20 - September 15 (press opening: Sunday, August 25 at 7:00pm) in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre.

This fall, Lincoln Center TheaterLCT3 will produce the world premiere of POWER STRIP, a new play by Sylvia Khoury, directed by Tyne Rafaeli, which will begin performances Saturday, October 5 and run for six weeks only through Sunday, November 17 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street). Opening night is Monday, October 21.

Williamstown Theatre Festival announces additional casting and full creative teams for productions

In the past few weeks, we've watched the nominations roll in. Today the final crop of nominees have been revealed, all leading to next week's ultimate announcement- the 2019 Tony nominations.

An industry reading of WINGS will be held on Thursday, May 9th at 3 PM and Friday, May 10th at 11 AM in New York City. WINGS is a new musical with Book, Music, and Lyrics by Danny K Bernstein.

Playwrights Horizons (Artistic Director Tim Sanford, Managing Director Leslie Marcus) today announces that its 2019 Spring Gala will honor the beloved and prolific actress Lois Smith, a two-time Tony Award nominee whose six-decade career in theater, film, and television has included memorable performances in numerous Playwrights Horizons productions. The event will convene Playwrights Horizons' diverse community of writers, artists, and supporters on Monday, May 6 at 583 Park Avenue.

California Shakespeare Theater opens its 2019 summer season with A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare, playing May 22 through June 16, 2019 at the Bruns Amphitheater in Orinda. The season launches with A Pay What You Can performance on Wednesday, May 22nd. The Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Programs end their 2018-19 season with two plays in rep, How We Got On by Idris Goodwin, and She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen. She Kills Monsters, directed by Tatyana-Marie Carlo ('20) tackles grief through one of the most popular role-playing games, Dungeons & Dragons. How We Got On, directed by Josiah Davis('20), is a coming-of-age story for three young hip hop artists in the suburbs growing up alongside a new genre of music. Unveiling Emily Mann's final season as Artistic Director and Resident Playwright, McCarter Theatre Center has announced the full schedule for its upcoming 2019-2020 Theater Series, dubbed "Signature Emily."
