BroadwayWorld reported yesterday that a production of A Streetcar Named Desire is headed to Williamstown Theatre Festival this summer, starring Audra McDonald and Bobby Cannavale. Now, Artistic Director Mandy Greenfield has announced the complete 2020 summer season for Williamstown Theatre Festival, which includes four world premiere plays, a world premiere musical, and more.

Last night, Williamstown Theatre Festival held its annual gala! Among those in attendance were Laura Benanti, Joshua Boone, Dawn Landes, Kyle MacLachlan, Ashley Park and more.

The Williamstown Theatre Festival has been the starting place for a number of plays and musicals that end up securing a spot on the Great White Way! Recently, there have been multiple Broadway hits that began at the Festival. Playwrights Horizons (Artistic Director Tim Sanford, Managing Director Leslie Marcus) today announced the cast and creative team of Unknown Soldier, a sweeping, elegiac chamber musical that melts time, spanning three generations as it follows a woman's journey to unearth the secrets buried in her family's past. With a book and lyrics by Daniel Goldstein, making his New York writing debut, Unknown Soldier is also the last work from the late, beloved Michael Friedman (music and lyrics) to be premiered in the city. Together, they created a work that profoundly illustrates the search into the existences of those who've passed, connecting the love and loss, hope and regret of two womena?'and a country forever scarred by wara?'across a century. Unknown Soldier follows Ellen Rabinowitz, a woman who's inherited her grandmother's homea?'and with it, a clue that her understanding of her family and of herself are incomplete. Directed by Trip Cullman and choreographed by Patrick McCollum, this New York premiere production will take place in the Mainstage Theater at Playwrights Horizons (416 West 42nd Street), February 14-March 29, 2020.

Directed by Kristin McCarthy Parker (Puffs), this twisted love story, which opened Sunday, October 27th at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place), will now extend its limited engagement through November 23rd Tickets, priced at $25, are available at www.afo.nyc.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) and Education at Roundabout (Jennifer DiBella, Director of Education) are pleased to announce that Ridgeway High School in Memphis, TN will present the regional premiere of LOCKDOWN: AWAIT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS. Written by Daniel Robert Sullivan and a team of teenagers from New York City, Lockdown: Await Further Instructions was developed in partnership with Roundabout Theatre Company's Education Department. The play, devised from the words and experiences of its co-creators, will have its regional world premiere at Ridgeway High School on November 1st and 2nd at 7:00pm, and November 3rd at 3:00pm. Tickets are available at the door. Ridgeway High School is located at 2009 Ridgeway Rd., Memphis, TN 38119.
