This past weekend Guild Hall turned the theater on its head with Stroman Presents! – a three-day Broadway lover’s delight. On Friday, Stro took the stage of the John Drew Theater with Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick and Brad Oscar to talk about the production and perform a couple of the beloved musical numbers.

Tony nominee Jacob Langfelder (Sea Wall/A Life) launched Broadway and Vine this week with Tony nominee Tony Yazbeck (On The Town, Gypsy, A Chorus Line, and star of the upcoming Broadway production of Flying Over Sunset) and Emmy Award winning composer and lyricist, Lance Horne, at Tre Posti in Napa Valley.  

Echoing “An American Pageant for the Arts,” the 1962 fundraising telecast for the National Cultural Center hosted by Leonard Bernstein, one of Falletta’s early teachers, this special celebration will be hosted by Tony Award® winner Audra McDonald with special guest Caroline Kennedy. Falletta will share the podium with conductors Steven Reineke and Thomas Wilkins.

Set in the 1950’s, FLYING OVER SUNSET is a work of fiction inspired by the lives of three extraordinary and accomplished people - writer Aldous Huxley (to be played by Harry Hadden-Paton); playwright, diplomat, and congresswoman, Clare Boothe Luce (Carmen Cusack); and film legend Cary Grant (Tony Yazbeck).

The lineup includes National Poetry Slam champion and 2018 National Book Award winner Elizabeth Acevedo; dancer, choreographer, and tradition-bearer of Black American social dance LaTasha Barnes; American Ballet Theatre principal dancers Herman Cornejo and Cassandra Trenary; Kennedy Center Artistic Advisor at Large Renée Fleming; and more!

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Lincoln Center Theater has shifted opening dates for Flying Over Sunset. The new musical with book and direction by James Lapine, music by Tom Kitt and lyrics by Michael Korie, and featuring choreography by Michelle Dorrance, will begin performances on Thursday, November 11 and open on Monday, December 13 in the Vivian Beaumont Theater.
