IndieWorks Announces BITE-SIZED BROADWAY- A Mini-Musical Podcast

IndieWorks Theatre Company has announced the first season of its new podcast, Bite-Sized Broadway, a Mini-Musical Podcast. The first season features ten 50-minute episodes that showcase fully-produced, digitally-orchestrated 'mini-musicals' followed by in-depth conversations with our 18 writers from around the globe. Writers will have the opportunity to share about their process, careers, and current and upcoming works. The first episode will premiere on Monday, October 5, with new episodes on the first and third Monday of each month.

The black-tie evening honoring Foster a?" a two-time Tony Award, Drama Desk, Outer Critics, Fred Astaire, and Gracie Award winner and star of TV Land's hit television series a?oeYoungera?? -- will take place on Monday, October 28, 2019 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in New York City at The Plaza (768 Fifth Avenue). As previously announced, EY is the 2019 recipient of The Drama League's Arts Ally Award, to be accepted by Herb Engert at the Benefit Gala.

2019 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship Program Recipients And Finalists Announced

New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) has announced the recipients and finalists of the NYSCANYFA Artist Fellowship Program, which it has administered for the past 33 years with leadership support from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA). The organization has awarded a total of $661,000 to 98 artists (including three collaborations) whose ages range from 25-76 years throughout New York State in the following disciplines: ArchitectureEnvironmental StructuresDesign, Choreography, MusicSound, Photography, and PlaywritingScreenwriting. Fifteen finalists, who do not receive a cash award but benefit from a range of other NYFA services, were also announced. A complete list of the Fellows and Finalists follows.

The third volume of the anthology releases this evening! The publication will be celebrated with a party at The Pershing Square Signature Center and will feature book signings at 6:30PM by various contributors in the volume, including composer-lyricist Michael R. Jackson (A Strange Loop), director Stephen Brackett (Be More Chill), composer-lyricist Timothy Huang (American Morning), composer-lyricist Peter Mills (The Hello Girls), and Cara Loelle Reichel (Producing Artistic Director, Prospect Theater Company).
