Teatro Audaz will present its first-ever mainstage musical of Mariachi Girl, an uplifting bilingual production about reaching one’s dreams. Just in time for Fiesta, the production will feature live Mariachi music for every performance, from March 4-13, by San Antonio’s popular Mariachi Azteca de América. 

On a new episode of PBS' Finding Your Roots, Henry Louis Gates, Jr. will accompany Leslie Odom, Jr. and Nathan Lane as they meet a cast of inspiring ancestors hidden in the branches of their family trees. Now in its eight season, the series helps today’s leading artists, politicians, performers and more discover their ancestors' stories.

Advancing to their second World Premiere this season, live performance returns to the stage at Skylight Theatre on March 12th, in partnership with Playwrights' Arena. Award winning playwright Boni B. Alvarez captures the pulse of the times we’re living in as he gives audiences a bird’s eye view of Apartment Living.

The new Broadway talk show Live with Rye & Friends on Broadway hosted by talk show Host & Producer Rye Myers at BAR 9 (807 9th Ave) welcomes singer, actress, and model Hannah Cruz on Thursday, February 3 at 7:30.

THE ROAD THEATRE COMPANY and Taylor Gilbert, Founder/Artistic Director together with Sam Anderson, Artistic Director, are thrilled to announce its return to live performances with three plays performing in repertory, beginning and re-opening with the world premiere of THE PLAY YOU WANT, written by Bernardo Cubría and directed by Michael John Garcés.  

Production photos have been released of two-time Grammy nominee and Theater World Award winner Conrad Ricamora as Seymour in the three-time Best Musical Revival Award-winning production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. Ricamora began his run in the starring role on January 11, 2022 at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street).

THE ROAD THEATRE COMPANY has announced its return to live performances with three plays performing in repertory. THE PLAY YOU WANT, written by Bernardo Cubria and directed by Michael John Garcés, will begin previews on Tuesday, February 8; will open on Friday, February 11 at 8pm and run through Sunday, March 27.

The Keegan Theatre has announced the live world premiere of Lisa Stephen Friday's one-woman rock musical TRANS AM, featuring the music of cult-favorite NYC glam rock band Lisa Jackson & Girl Friday and directed by Broadway's Fred Berman. 

35MM: A Musical Exhibition comes to the Public Theatre of San Antonio in 2022. Performances will run January 14 - February 6.

The new season includes three New York Premieres and two brand new digital commissions, as they continue to roll out culturally centered programs throughout 2021. In addition, NBT is announcing the fifth Soul Producing Resident, Jordan Flemming, who will be in residence at NBT during this upcoming season.
