The Magic Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Sam Chanse’s Monument, Or Four Sisters ( A Sloth Play). Directed by Giovanna Sardelli, Monument, Or Four Sisters (A Sloth Play) will perform from May 11 – 29, 2022* at Magic Theatre’s Fort Mason location (Fort Mason, 2 Marina Blvd., Building D, 3rd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94123).

On April 9 (7pm), join Tony Award Nominee Josh Young and his wife, Broadway Star Emily Padgett at the Green Room 42, as they celebrate the decade that gave us Les Miserables, Phantom of The Opera and Cats - the decade where Stephen Sondheim and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber reached the pinnacle of their creative mastery: the 1980’s.

The Magic Theatre’s (Sean San José, Lead Director and Kevin Nelson, Managing Director) first Home Resident Company- Campo Santo is honored to announce a limited engagement of the Premiere Run of OTTO FRANK, a new performance piece created and performed by incomparable star of film, television, and stage Roger Guenveur Smith, with an original score and live sound by award winning musician Marc Anthony Thompson.  OTTO FRANK will perform from March 12-27, 2022 on Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm and 8pm, at Magic Theatre’s Fort Mason location (Fort Mason, 2 Marina Blvd., Building D, 3rd Floor, San Francisco, CA 94123).

The Hangar Theatre has announced the first ever Hangar Flight Test, a series of concert stagings of original musicals in development.  The 2022 series will consist of two workshop productions which Hangar audiences will be among the first to experience.  Writers and artistic teams will invite audiences to give feedback and become part of the development process as they prepare their scripts and scores for full scale production.

The Dramatists Guild of America has welcomed Adam Gwon and David Henry Hwang to its Council. The Guild is governed by a board of directors (Council) elected from its membership. These writers, in various stages of their theatrical careers, meet monthly to decide policy for the Guild.

The Magic Theatre’s first Home Resident Company- Campo Santo is honored to announce a limited engagement of the Premiere Run of OTTO FRANK, a new performance piece created and performed by incomparable star of film, television, and stage Roger Guenveur Smith, with an original score and live sound by award winning musician Marc Anthony Thompson.  

The Hamilton trio will reunite to open the ceremony, which is set to air on TNT and TBS. The SAG Awards have previously featured openers for the top of the telecast rather than hosts. Eugene and David Levy opened the 2020 broadcast.
