Folger Shakespeare Library To Screen DC Premiere Of The New Film GHOST LIGHT

The Folger Shakespeare Library will host the DC premiere of Ghost Light, a new dark comedy by filmmakers John Stimpson and Geoffrey Taylor. The film, a Feature Film Award-winner at the Austin Film Festival, will be shown in the historic Folger Theatre located on Capitol Hill. Musco Center For The Arts Announces 2019-20 Season

The fourth Musco Center for the Arts season at Chapman University will run September 2019 through May 2020 with a packed schedule of artists and groups from the worlds of opera, dance, theatre, and classical music as well as Broadway, jazz, country, and American roots music. Among the special events will be several spectacular holiday celebrations, culturally specific performances and festivals, and a live orchestra accompaniment of Disney's Pixar movie music to screened excerpts from the studio's most popular films.
FIVE TEENAGERS WALK INTO A BAR To Begin Film This Month Outside Of L.A.

Producer Ron Hanks today announced the start of filming of Five Teenagers Walk Into A Bar later this month outside of Los Angeles. This coming-of-age, short film tells the story of five barely acquainted teens – an almost-famous Instagram model Nicole Elizabeth Berger, a Goth girl Lana Schwartz, a young transgender person Isaiah Stannard, a blonde truth teller Violet Young and a sassy redhead cheerleader Clara Young – who are abandoned in the middle of the barren desert on a field trip from a fancy LA private school.

On May 4, 2019, Los Angeles Opera presented a colorful, opulent production of Manuel Penella's opera EL GATO MONTES (THE WILDCAT) at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. Starring in the cast were Placido Domingo as Juanillo, El Gato, with Ana Maria Martinez as Solea and Arturo Chacon-Cruz as Raphael, El Macareno. Needless to say the house was packed.

Performing Saturday May 4th at the Hudson Valley Writers Center are award winning comics and story tellers Eddie Brill, Mary Dimino and Alyssa Sequoia. The event is apart of the monthly series titled "Can I Tell You Something? Stand Up with Story." The performance takes place in the beautifully restored Philipse Manor Station, now headquarters and performance space for the Hudson Valley Writers Center, and is listed on the National and State Registers of Historic Places.
