A 40th Anniversary reunion benefit concert of the 1979 hit Broadway production of They're Playing Our Song will be held on Monday, February 11th at 7:30 pm at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th St.) and will star the Broadway cast members Lucie Arnaz as 'Sonia Walsk' and Robert Klein as 'Vernon Gersch'.

Two-time Tony Award nominee Johanna Day (Sweat, Proof) takes on the title role in the world premiere Stephen Belber's JOAN, running January 19 through February 16 at HERE Arts Center (145 6th Avenue). Brooklyn-based theatre company Colt Coeur presents this poignant and probing play about the life of a contemporary American woman, with direction by Adrienne Campbell-Holt (Primary Stages' Downstairs, Colt Coeur's Zurich). Former US Vice President Al Gore will host a one-hour special broadcast of The Climate Reality Project's 24 Hours of Reality: Protect Our Planet, Protect Ourselves, which will explore how the climate crisis threatens human health worldwide. The special will premiere on Nat Geo WILD on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at 7 PM ET.

The San Diego International Film Festival (SDiFF), produced by the San Diego Film Foundation, announced today that they have honored Oscar-winning performer Keith Carradine with the Gregory Peck Award, and Zachary Levi, star of New Line Cinema's upcoming superhero adventure Shazam!, with the Humanitarian Award for his work with Operation Smile. The awards will be presented October 11th at The Night of the Stars Tribute at the Pendry San Diego in Downtown San Diego, CA.  

Last night, the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence hosted their annual Bear Awards in honor of Jim "Bear" Brady in NYC, an evening that celebrated champions and real heroes in the gun violence prevention space.  Reflecting on one year after the Las Vegas massacre, the evening was inspiring, uplifting, and left guests feeling charged to create change.

Following the announcement of their Opening Night Film, Yen Tan's award-winning AIDS drama 1985, NewFest today announced the full lineup of their 30th annual celebration of the year's best LGBT films from around the world.
