This Just In! Jonathan Groff to Take Over as King George in HAMILTON!

The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) announced today that Tony Award nominee Jonathan Groff will join the cast of HAMILTON as 'King George' on Tuesday, March 3. Groff, who performed in The Public's recent revival of Hair as well as The Bacchae and The Singing Forest, is replacing Brian d'Arcy James, who will be starring in Something Rotten on Broadway this spring. The world premiere musical HAMILTON, inspired by the book 'Alexander Hamilton' by Ron Chernow, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and directed by Thomas Kail, has been extended three times at The Public due to sold-out demand and will close as scheduled on Sunday, May 3 prior to a Broadway transfer to the Richard Rodgers Theatre beginning July 13 and opening August 6.

Toumani and Sidiki Diabate to Perform at Arts Centre Melbourne, 3/5

Grammy Award winning kora (21-string Malian harp) virtuoso Toumani Diabete and his eldest son Sidiki, a griot (a member of a West African musical hereditary caste), master kora player and hip-hop star are preparing to give a rare one night only performance at Arts Centre Melbourne's Hamer Hall on March 5. Born into an exceptional musical family - 71 continuous generations of kora players - Toumani was a self-taught child prodigy who has been described by the Observer as "one of the world's most pre-eminent musicians in any genre."

Gregg Allman to Play Minneapolis' Pantages, 3/27

Gregg Allman, the legendary southern rock icon and founding member of The Allman Brothers, brings his eight piece band to Minneapolis at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Hennepin Theatre Trust's Pantages Theatre (710 Hennepin Ave.). Rajiv Joseph to Recieve 2015 Laurents/Hatcher Award

The Trustees of The Laurents / Hatcher Foundation, Inc. are pleased to announce that THE GUARDS AT THE TAJ by RAJIV JOSEPH has been selected for the 2015 LAURENTS / HATCHER FOUNDATION AWARD. The foundation will provide a $50,000 cash award to Mr. Joseph and a grant of $100,000 to go directly towards the production costs of the play's premiere at THE ATLANTIC THEATER COMPANY.

The 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on 'GRAMMY Sunday,' Feb. 8, 2015, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and broadcast live in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8 to 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

Blind Boys of Alabama Play Symphony Space Tonight

Symphony Space will welcome the season with the iconic gospel group Blind Boys of Alabama tonight, December 3 (8 pm) in the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre. Their holiday program, 'Go Tell It On the Mountain,' features an inspired selection of traditional spirituals, Christmas standards, and original tunes, all rendered in the soul-stirring vocal harmonies and funky instrumental backings that have brought them five Grammy Awards and international renown. Reviewing their CD of the same title, Mojo magazine wrote, 'There's nothing remotely schmaltzy or cloyingly sentimental about this seasonal offering from the veteran gospel group.'
