Broadway Artists Alliance, the dynamic not-for-profit educational organization that is gaining a reputation for ensuring the future of great Broadway talent by bringing together Broadway artists and promising young performers announces their 2008/2009 series of monthly master classes.

On Sunday September 7, 2008 the curtain came down on Broadway for the final performance of the landmark musical Rent. After the curtain came down, the party started at Chelsea Piers on Manhattan's West Side, the celebration attracted a starry crowd who partied into the night.

On Thursday August 14, 2008, Xanadu Star Cheyenne Jackson had his very own Broadway Wall of Fame portrait unveiled at the popular theater district Italian eatery, Tony DiNapoli's. Tony DiNapoli's is located at 147 43rd Street.

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is pleased to announce plans for SAY Something: A Spoken Word Salon. The event will feature spoken word performances from writers and actors, presenting their own work as well as excerpts from some of their favorite texts. SAY Something will take place on Friday, August 15 @ 6pm at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, located at 407 West 42nd St., (@ 9th Ave), in the heart of New York's theatre district.

As someone who gets a euphoric high from that strict-tempo ritard the orchestra takes toward the end of Fade Out-Fade In's overture, who considers the Broadway cast album of One Night Stand to be the perfect road trip CD and who more than once has been moved to get in front of a mirror and mime Nancy Dussault's performance of 'Love Is A Chance' while listening to Bajour, you might expect me to fit snugly into the target audience for [title of show], the musical where conversation between stars/authors Hunter Bell (bookwriter) and Jeff Bowen (composer/lyricist) is peppered with so many obscure (and some not so obscure) musical theatre references that you'd swear you just stumbled into a midnight cabaret act at Don't Tell Mama or The Duplex (a/k/a everyday martini talk at Marie's Crisis). Yes, after months of promotional YouTube videos promising it would happen, the Twenty-First Century's Montgomery and Stone have finally landed their ninety minute musical on Broadway, and to paraphrase what Gracie Allen said about Jumbo, if it continues running for as long as it hasn't been running it should be a great success.

'Broadway Stands Up for Freedom!,' a benefit concert to support the youth programs of the NYCLU, returns Monday, July 21 at 7:30PM in the NYU Skirball Center to shine-light on the NYCLU's dedication to reproductive rights and other civil liberties issues relevant to young people. Jen Bender directs a star-studded cast through a night of musical treats, superb story-telling and poetry, with musical direction by Seth Rudetsky.
