MUSE/IQUE, known for its counter-conventional performances that feel more like parties than formal concerts, continues 'Summer of Sound' 2013 with 'Moving Pictures' featuring groundbreaking cellist Matt Haimovitz and Emmy Award-winning actress Wendie Malick ('Hot in Cleveland') in a fresh take on motion picture scores by Elmer Bernstein, Jerry Goldsmith, Vangelis, Ennio Morricone, John Williams, Claude-Michel Schönberg and Erich Korngold as well as the world premiere of Sleepwalking, a concerto for cello and chamber orchestra with images by Peter Golub, prolific composer and director of Sundance's Film Music Program, on Saturday, July 27, 2013, 7:30 pm, outdoors at Caltech's Beckman Mall in Pasadena.

The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall is geared up and ready for its second Friday Fest of the summer, on Friday, July 19, from 5-9pm. Playing the perfect mix of bluesy rock with a touch of soul, Kettle of Fish have become a staple of the Sarasota live music scene. If you like Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Robert Cray, BB King, Stevie Wonder, The Allman Brothers, the Grateful Dead, or Eric Clapton, you will love Kettle of Fish. Be sure to bring a blanket or chair, and a good pair of dancing shoes, or feet! There will be local vendors with food and drink for sale, so bring your appetites as well. Summer Music Festival '7@7' Plays 7 World Trade Center, Now thru 8/23

Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), the leading global music rights organization that represents more than 600,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers in all genres of music and more than 7.5 million works, is partnering with New York real estate company Silverstein Properties, Inc. to host the 3rd annual concert series of free summer music performances in the park in front of Silverstein Properties' 7 World Trade Center (located at 250 Greenwich St.) in downtown Manhattan. The music festival, known as '7@7' is taking place on seven Fridays from July 12th through August 23rd, at 12:00 p.m. with an eclectic lineup of talented performers taking to the BMI stage.

"The Hebrew Hillbilly", written by and performed by singer-songwriter Shelley Fisher in a one-woman cabaret style concert at a 2 PM matinee performance today, July 7th at Arthur Newman Theatre in The Joslyn Center Theater in Palm Desert. The show chronicles Ms. Fisher's Hollywood odyssey that begins in the heart of the Mississippi Delta in her hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. Shelley grew up surrounded by Rockin' Roll, Blues, and Bar B Que with a flamboyant but very Jewish mother who frowned on her dating the local redneck boys. But that never stopped her dreams from an early age of being a Hollywood star and she has been singing since before she could walk.
