On Sunday, March 12th, I had the pleasure of seeing yet another phenomenal installment of the Downtown Cabaret Theatre’s Decades in Music series, THE 1980S. Of the three so far, this one has been my favorite! THE 1980S is written by Phill Hill, directed and choreographed by Jennifer Kaye, and performed at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport CT. THE 1980S represents a trip through song, dance, and video clips of the decade I entered as a pre-schooler and left as a high school freshman. Consistently with the Decades in Music series, the usual stellar cast of Robert Peterpaul, Everton Ricketts, Mikayla Petrilla, and Saige Bryan provide first-rate performances that truly captivate the feel of the decade and radiate positive energy throughout the audience. The performers have excellent stage chemistry with each other, harmonize well, and truly look like they are having a great time up on stage, and when breaking the fourth wall and interacting with the audience!
The song is the first off her much-anticipated new album coming this spring on Columbia/Sony Music France. A new chapter for the multi-cultural popstar both personally and artistically, this poetic body of work is inspired by self-empowerment, new chances and beginnings, and the need to overcome one’s fears.

Ultimately, The Buzztones Present “Now That’s What Someone Might Call Music!” is an absolutely delightful presentation of acapella from a group that is clearly passionate (while also being immensely talented)! You can bet that I’ll be humming their songs for the next few weeks.

Singer-songwriter Jeffrey Gaines, whose debut album in 1992 was greeted with critical acclaim and spawned the hit single “Hero in Me,” is bringing his unique talents to Boston on Saturday, November 12 at City Winery Boston.
The four-track project, which fearlessly calls out each of her exes by name, is a raw and unedited look inside the ebbs and flows of the artist's past love interests with songs written about them in real time. Three of the four tracks were written and recorded in her bedroom after listening to 8-bar loops sent from producer Keith Askey.
