Abingdon Theatre Company presents a concert reading of MERTON OF THE MOVIES -- an uproarious new musical comedy set in the rollicking age of Keystone Cops, Harold Lloyd, Charlie Chaplin, and Buster Keaton -- with book by Donald Brenner, music and lyrics by Doug Katsaros, on Monday, December 8 at 7pm at the June Havoc Theatre (312 West 36th Street) in Manhattan. Donald Brenner, whose directorial credits include MARCH MADNESS and the upcoming MALLORCA at Abingdon, will direct.

The first Globe for All free Shakespeare tour will begin today, October 28 and will culminate in three low-cost performances on November 7 - 9 in the Globe's Hattox Hall, part of the Karen and Donald Cohn Education Center in the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

Work is already underway for the 34th season of the Baltimore Playwrights Festival with scenes chosen for this year's BPF Freefall event. The scenes will be performed by some of Baltimore's best community theater actors and the playwrights will be on hand to answer questions and talk about theater with the audience. Alex Gaumond (Matilda, Legally Blonde, We Will Rock You) will replace Rufus Hound as the newest conman on the block, Freddy Benson from 11 November 2014 in the critically acclaimed and Best New Musical of 2014, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
