Victory Theatre Center Premieres Judith Leora Play In Together LA Festival

LA Stage Alliance (LASA) in association with Alternative Theatre Los Angeles (ATLA) presents a?oeTogether LA: A Virtual Stage Festivala?? celebrating the vibrant and diverse intimate theatre scene of the greater Los Angeles area. The Festival will feature The Victory Theatre's production of Judith Leora's new 10-minute play You, Me & Margaret Atwood.

KFK's Arts In Review Airs Friday, June 3

KPFK Radio's Arts in Review, Los Angeles's longest-running radio showcase on live theater and cabaret, presents a plan by Artistic Directors of over 55 Intimate (aka 99-Seat) non-profit theaters for the post Covid-19 re-emergence of theater in Los Angeles. Guests include Beatrice Casagan, Gary Grossman and Michael A. Shepperd. Hosted by entertainment journalist Julio Martinez, the program airs Friday, July 3 (2 to 2:30pm­­­­­­­­­­), on KPFK 90.7.FM, streamed live worldwide on kpfk.org.

To commemorate Juneteenth this Friday June 19th, the Juneteenth Theatre Justice Project will present Vincent Terrell Durham's POLAR BEARS, BLACK BOYS & PRAIRIE FRINGED ORCHIDS as a free, live Zoom reading. Juneteenth Theatre Justice Project has gathered groups of regional theatres in various cities to partner in this production. In the Los Angeles Theatre community, co-presenting POLAR BEARS are: IAMA Theatre Company, Celebration Theatre, DOMA Theatre Company, Echo Theater Company, Highways, The Inkwell Theater, Lower Depth Theatre, Skylight Theatre Company and the L.A. Stage Alliance.

Vineyard Theatre Suspends DANA H. Performances Through March 31

Vineyard Theatre has announced that starting tomorrow, Friday, March 13  all performances of Dana H. will be suspended through March 31. The theatre will play to 50% capacity April 1 - 12. This is in accordance with guidelines from the CDC and state and local health officials' executive orders.  

Vineyard Theatre's DANA H. Extends Until April 11

Vineyard Theatre Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern announce that New York Times Critic's Pick, Dana H., by Lucas Hnath, adapted from interviews with Dana Higginbotham conducted by Steve Cosson, and directed by Les Waters, has extended for the second time and will now play at the Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th St.) through Saturday, April 11. The production, which stars Deirdre O'Connell in the title role, made its New York premiere on Tuesday, February 25.

Shakespeare by the Sea Announces 23rd Season

Rubicon Theatre Company of Ventura begins the new year with the West Coast Premiere of NEVER NOT ONCE, a powerful, compelling and timely new drama by CAREY CRIM. Vineyard Theatre Announces Updated Preview Schedule For DANA H.

Vineyard Theatre Artistic Directors Douglas Aibel and Sarah Stern announce dates for Dana H. by Lucas Hnath, adapted from interviews with Dana Higginbotham conducted by Steve Cosson, and directed by Les Waters. Previews will begin on February 11 (previously February 7) at Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street) with Deirdre O'Connell reprising the title role for the New York premiere direct from engagements at Center Theatre Group and The Goodman Theatre. Opening night for Dana H. is set for February 25.
