The 29th Annual LA STAGE Alliance Ovation Awards, celebrating theatrical excellence and achievement throughout Los Angeles, were presented on Monday, January 28, at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is pleased to announce the first show in its fifth season of our TYA Family Series... James and The Giant Peach. With book by Timothy Allen McDonald, music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, based on the book by Roald Dahl, and directed by Darryl B. Hovis, James and The Giant Peach will preview from February 15 through February 17; regular performances will begin February 17 and continue through March 3 at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center on the Fyda-Mar Stage.
After a 23 year stint as the General Manager of the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center, David Ralphe retired at the end of December, 2018. The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center opened its doors on Los Angeles Avenue in November of 1995 with David Ralphe as the founding General Manager. Under Ralphe's leadership, the Center has been host to over 8, 500 events and seen more than 75,000 patrons pass through the doors.
Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is delighted to announce its OTR New Works lineup for 2019. We will be presenting staged readings of Jessica Huang's Transmissions in Advance of the Second Great Dying on March 6th, John Glore's Creep on May 8th, and 2016 Resident Playwright Jenny Connell Davis' End of Shift on October 9th. We will also be doing a LAB Workshop of a new play (which is still being written) by our 2019 Resident Playwright, Jessica Huang from July 18th - 21st. All performances will take place at the Bette Aitken theater arts Center.

East West Players (EWP), the nation's longest-running professional theater of color and the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, is pleased to announce its nominations for the 29th Annual Ovation Awards, which will be held on Monday, January 28, at The Theatre at Ace Hotel. LA STAGE Alliance (LASA) has announced the appointment of Marco Gomez to the position of Interim Executive Director. Gomez has committed to shepherding the upcoming 29th Annual Ovation Awards ceremony and maintaining the continuity of LASA's major programs during a transition initiated by the departure of Steven Leigh Morris in November. The board's formal search for permanent leadership is slated to begin in the coming weeks. LASA is the primary service organization for the performing arts in Southern California.

Agent 355 is directed by Estefania Fadul and features music direction and orchestrations by Madeline Smith ,with General Management by Simpson & Longthorne Theatricals and MTF Creative Producing by Maggie Snyder.
