After a five-year hiatus, Schroeder will return to his hometown high school to raise money for this benefit concert. The Todd Schroeder's Young Artist Grant (YAG) was started in 1995 for visual and performing arts students at Sonora High School in Sonora, California. Since its inception, over 50 grants have been awarded.

Renaissance Theaterworks (RTW) presents ACTUALLY by Anna Ziegler at their new artistic home, 255 S. Water St., running March 11 through April 3, 2022. NEVER NOT ONCE, by the award-winning American playwright Carey Crim, is a poignant and emotionally gripping new drama about what happens when a family is forced to confront an unexpected and explosive answer to the question “Where do I come from?”.

Center Theatre Group has launched the CTG Leadership Circle, a program intended to uplift, celebrate and support early- and mid- career staff members at Los Angeles’ largest theatre company. The focus of CTG Leadership Circle is on employees who identify as BIPOC, as well as individuals from intersectional and marginalized identities.

Award-winning theatre company Son of Semele Ensemble is announcing its departure from their Silver Lake home of 18 years. Led by Founding Artistic Director Matthew McCray since 2000, the company has been in residence at 3301 Beverly Boulevard in a black box theatre they created in 2003. 

Regent's Park Open Air Theatre have today confirmed initial principal casting for Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel, which plays 31 July – 25 September.

LA NEW PLAY PROJECT has announced new support for original work to be presented on the Los Angeles stage. LANPP has initiated a two-tiered grant program offering opportunities for $20,000 grants to playwrights, and an additional grant up to $20,000 to producing entities helping support productions.

LA Stage Alliance has announced that it will cease all operations, effective immediately. This comes after several theatres revoked their membership to the LA Stage Alliance after an Asian American nominee was misrepresented at the Ovation Awards last week.

Several theatres are revoking their membership to the LA Stage Alliance due to a number of slights made during last night's Ovation Awards. 

BroadwayWorld previously reported that theatres are revoking their membership to the LA Stage Alliance after an error was made during last night's Ovation Awards. Deaf West Theatre is the latest company to revoke their membership. 

Jully Lee was nominated for an award for her performance in East West Players' Hannah and the Dread Gazebo, a play that featured an entirely Asian American company. However, when the time came for the award to be announced, Lee's name was mispronounced, and a photo of her castmate was shown on screen in place of her own.

Celebration Theatre Artistic Director Michael A. Shepperd has been set to host the 31st Annual LA STAGE Alliance Ovation Awards Ceremony, this year to be presented in a virtual format, on Tuesday, March 30, at 8pm.
