The League of Professional Theatre Women (Shellen Lubin and Catherine Porter, Co-Presidents), an organization which has been championing women in the professional theatre for over three decades, will launch their 37th season of programming, events, and advocacy, with a special event on Wednesday, September 25 at Theaterlab (357 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10018). Pre-reception networking will begin at 6:30pm. The event will officially kick-off at 7pm, followed by post-reception networking from 9pm-9:30pm.

Following sold out engagements at 54 Below, The Triad NYC, United Solo Festival, Barrington Stage Company (Tony Award-winning William Finn's Cabaret Series) and a nationwide tour from Washington D.C. to Hawaii, the captivating Amy Oestreicher presents Passageways: Songs of Connection, Abnormal & Sublime. An adventurous multimedia journey of original song, art, story and humor as an unexpected passageway through crisis to home, Passageways is written performed, composed, and with mixed media art created by Amy Oestreicher (Gutless and Grateful at 54 Below, RAINN & TEDx Talks) with musical direction and arrangements by Bob Goldstone and direction by Shellen Lubin. Performances of this new theatrical event will coincide with the launch of Amy Oestreicher's new book My Beautiful Detour (Singing Tree Publishing, 2019), and a talk-back and book-signing will be held after each performance. Three performances of Passageways will be staged at HERE, 145 6th Avenue in New York City from August 6-8, 2019.
Cosmic Orchid announces this season's cycle of their signature production: The Voire Dire Project 4.0: The Photography Cycle. Four plays created with inspiration from 4 photographic images is running at the Medicine Show Theatre, 549 W. 52nd Street, Floor 3rd, with a full curation of the photographers' art work.

Awarded biennially, the Collaboration Awards encourage professional women in the arts and media from different disciplines to work collaboratively on the creation of new work. The award recognizes the best of these collaborations and goes to a winning project and its two creators. 2019 marks the sixth time the Collaboration Awards have been presented.

Passageways is an original song cycle with live music, and artwork projections, all created by the performer. Music, humor and art, interwoven with autobiographical narrative, as the creativity of the artist becomes an unexpected passageway through profound crisis. 'Before This New Year,' a coming-of-age identity and right-of-first-passage love story by playwright Liana Sonenclar, will play a reading for industry on Monday, November 19th at 7 PM, at the Jerry Orbach Theater at the Theater Center at 210 West 50th Street, and will feature a notable cast. The play is helmed by director Kimberly Loren Eaton, who has been working on the development of the piece with Sonenclar the past several months through her creative development and production company Theatrum Mundi Productions.

De Shields received the Bistro Awards' highest honor for his five decades of stage and nightclub accomplishments.
