The panel included Broadway veteran Polly Adams; Emmy-winner Ellen Parker; actress & playwright Leigh Curran; actress & scholar Heather Rasche; performer & playwright Shellen Lubin; actress & fine artist Leah Friedman; actress, playwright & performance artist Elizabeth Hess; and veteran playwright & producing artists director of the 13th Rep Susan Merson.

This is the fifth Collaboration Award presented by the Women in the Arts & Media Coalition, whose mission is to focus the power of its member organizations together and to use that combined strength to address issues of concern to women in the arts, media, and new media. Stephen Schwartz, the Oscar, Tony, Grammy, and Golden Globe-winning composer/lyricist, who wrote the scores to such musicals as Pippin, Wicked, Godspell, and The Magic Show, will present Ben Vereen, the Tony Award-winning actor-singer-dancer, with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Collaboration Awards, which recognize women who successfully collaborate across disciplines to create new and influential work, will be presented at the Awards Gala tonight, October 24th at Baruch Performing Arts Center's Engelman Auditorium in New York City. Madeleine Smithberg, Emmy and Peabody Award winning co-creator and original executive producer of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, will keynote the evening's Gala.
