Door Shakespeare Taking Registrations For Camp Will

Door Shakespeare is taking registrations for the youth summer theatre program, Camp Will, running July 13a?"17, July 27a?"31, and August 10a?"14 from 10 a.m. to noon. All sessions are held online through video conferencing, and taught by professional actors from Door Shakespeare's company. Camp Will is for students who are 9 through 17 years old.

Held bi-annually, the Shakespeare Theatre Company's Mock Trials showcase a side of 'official' Washington too rarely seen. Bringing together the capital's top legal minds, the cases seek to entertain as well as educate. Veteran Washington lawyer Abbe David Lowell will serve as an Advocate at the upcoming June 22nd trial, and says that each of the cases seeks to accomplish four goals.

BWW News: Studio Theatre Embarks on Largest Round of Commissioning in Its History, Awarding Grants to Ten Theatre Artists and Supporting Audio Plays for The First Time

Building on over 40 years of producing powerful contemporary theatre, Studio Theatre is pleased to announce its largest class ever of commissioned artists to Studio R&D, its incubator to support the creation of new work. Studio will award grants to 10 artists-playwrights, directors, and multidisciplinary creators-investing in its future while supporting theatre-makers and expanding the idea of what it means to be a generative artist. For the first time, Studio R&D commissions are being awarded to support the creation of audio plays, as Studio explores alternate modes of theatrical storytelling in response to the present moment.

BEING HERE: A DIGITAL THEATRE EXPERIENCE at Solas Nua

Exploring the digital landscape of theatre, Solas Nua is commissioning a new play to capture the self isolation that people around the world are experiencing during the COVID 19 pandemic. Audiences can tune into the production to enjoy a live performance of a play specifically written for the online platform. The performance will feature optional, mild audience interaction.

All their plans were thrown into disarray, however, when first America and then the UK started to close the theatres (the Romantics Anonymous set, as well as the sound and lighting equipment, is currently stranded in LA). Actor David Schramm Has Passed Away At Age 73

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that David Schramm has passed away. Schramm was a founding member of The Acting Company. The company's Margot Harley announced his death today. He was 73 years old.
