Michael Urie has taken the #ShakespeareChallenge to a new level! The actor took to Twitter to post a video of himself performing Hamlet as Arnold Beckoff from Torch Song.

Laiona Michelle, writer and star of the critically acclaimed LITTLE GIRL BLUE: THE NINA SIMONE MUSICAL, which enjoyed a record-breaking sold-out run in 2019, will return to George Street Playhouse for one night only on Thursday, March 19th at 7:30 pm. AN EVENING WITH LAIONA MICHELLE, at George Street's new home in the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center, will celebrate the music of Nina Simone and classic Broadway.  

Flying Over Sunset is officially in previews on Broadway! The musical, with book and direction by James Lapine, music by Tom Kitt, and lyrics by Michael Korie, and choreography by Michelle Dorrance will open Thursday, April 16.

Hangmen is officially in previews on Broadway! Martin McDonagh's Hangmen marks McDonagh's seventh play to be produced on Broadway and his return to the stage following his BAFTA and Golden Globe Award-winning and Oscar-nominated film Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing, Missouri. Hangmen will officially open on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Broadway's Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street).

Broadway veteran, Edward Watts will star as El Gallo in The Link Theatre's inaugural production of Tom Jonesand Harvey Schmidt's The Fantasticks. Watts previously played the role for more than 1,000 performances in the Off-Broadway production in New York City. The first professional theatre company in Northeast Arkansas, The Link is a new non-profit theater company located in Jonesboro, AR. Broadway veteran Matt Cavenaugh will direct the musical, which will play for three nights only starting Friday, March 6, 2020 at The Glass Factory (313 W Huntington Avenue, Jonesboro, AR). Watts replaces the previously announced Ben Davis who had to exit the production due to conflicts with his shooting schedule.

Playwrights Horizons (Artistic Director Tim Sanford, Managing Director Leslie Marcus) is continuing its 2019/20 season with Sylvia Khoury's Selling Kabul, a thriller of shattering precision, tracking the human cost of immigration policy and the overlooked legacy of America's longest, and ongoing, war. Directed by Tyne Rafaeli and produced in association with Williamstown Theatre Festival, Khoury's play makes its New York premiere at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater at Playwrights Horizons (416 W 42nd St) beginning March 27, 2020.

Performances begin tonight for The Shakespeare Theatre Company mounting of THE AMEN CORNER, James Baldwin's classic parable of passion and perseverance, at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St. NW) in Washington, D.C.. The production will run from February 11-March 15, 2020. 

On April 2, St. Ann's Warehouse and Good Chance will bring The Jungle, which they have newly repurposed for touring, back to St. Ann's Warehouse, where it made its triumphant, sold-out American Premiere last season in a co-production with the National Theatre and the Young Vic.

Five years since Good Chance built the first 'Theatre of Hope' in the Calais a?oeJunglea?? camp and began its ground-breaking international work with artists from refugee backgrounds, the award-winning charity is delighted to be opening a new Good Chance Dome at the Mexico/US border, in partnership with Tijuana's Instituto Municipal de Arte y Cultura (IMAC).

La Jolla Playhouse is pleased to launch its 2020 Performance Outreach Program (POP) Tour production: Emily Driver's Great Race through Time and Space, by A.A. Brenner and Gregg Mozgala, directed by National Disability Theatre (NDT) Co-Executive Directors and Playhouse Artists-in-Residence Talleri A. McRae and Mickey Rowe. The Amateurs by Jordan Harrison and directed by Jason King Jones runs in Olney Theatre Center's Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab, March 4 - April 5, 2020. The production is the fifth show in Olney Theatre's 2019-2020 season and the final show to perform in the Theatre Lab before it closes for renovations, scheduled to re-open in November 2020. The Washington theatre community remains in mourning over the loss of Victor Shargai, long-time theatreWashington board chair, theater lover, and philanthropist, who passed away peacefully at home on December 24, 2019.
