Garry McQuinn and NIDA (Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art) have announced a collaborative partnership to produce the musical STARSTRUCK. Both organisations are keen to support the development of new Australian musicals: NIDA assisted as a platform to workshop the draft material in 2018 with students engaged with industry practitioners in a studio presentation. Following further development from writer Mitchell Butel and Hilary Bell, the piece will be realised under the direction of Kim Hardwick as a fully-staged performance as part of the NIDA October 2019 Season of Student Productions, co-produced with Garry's company RGM Productions in association with Palm Beach Pictures.

Producers Kenny Wax, Wendy & Andy Barnes, George Stiles and Kevin McCollum announced tonight that the new musical SIX by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss will return to Chicago for a sixteen week limited engagement at Broadway In Chicago's Broadway Playhouse starting July 8, 2020 through October 25, 2020. The hit musical, which had its North American premiere at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, concluded its extended run on Sunday, August 4, 2019 and heads to Broadway in February of 2020. 20 years ago, Indigenous Australian icon Jimmy Little released Messenger, an album paying tribute to great Australasian songwriters. Messenger launched Little into the consciousness of a whole new generation of fans, many of whom had not known that he was Australia's first Indigenous pop star on the back of hits like “Royal Telephone” in the early 1960s, or that he had a huge presence on Australia's country music scene. The album won the 1999 Best Adult Contemporary Album ARIA, and at the same time Jimmy was inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.
