She Kills Monsters is returning to The Arena Stage at Theatre of Arts in August. After a well-received run during the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2019, StageCrafts, run by Jenn and Greg Crafts, awarded "She Kills Monsters" the Producer's Encore Award.
The Memory of the Trees will play at Theatre National Sept. 12-22.

This October Portland-based band Hustle And Drone will release their new album What An Uproar. Today, the band released the first single 'Stranger' from the forthcoming release. The track premiered at PopMatters and can also be shared at Spotify. Critically acclaimed Southern California rock band The Shelters return with their new single “You're Different” today. The track marks the first new material from the group — Chase Simpson [vocals, guitar], Josh Jove [guitar, vocals], and Sebastian Harris [drums] — since 2017 and heralds the arrival of their forthcoming sophomore album set for release September 20 via Warner Records. On Wednesday, SiriusXM Alt Nation premiered the song and kickstarted excitement for its official release today. Representing another evolution for the band, “You're Different” hinges on fuzzed-out riffing and a sharp beat before unfurling towards an instantly hummable refrain and synth-sounding iridescent guitar solo.
A few months after the Allman Brothers Band released their revered fourth studio album Brothers And Sisters, legendary frontman, vocalist, pianist Gregg Allman stepped out on his own with his masterful debut solo album Laid Back. Co-produced by Allman along with Johnny Sandlin, the collection of songs was a creative outlet where he was able to assume full control and explore his varying influences, including rhythm and blues and soul music. Exemplified by the album title's relaxed approach, the songs were a departure from his band's guitar-heavy sound in favor of gospel-tinged organs, slower tempos and a choir, all of which beautifully buoyed Allman's soulful, and at times, mournful vocals.
It's a marvelous production of a so-so musical.

June 29, 2019 Melissa Barak's Ballet Company, Barak Ballet, is becoming a staple at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica. Since 2013, they have been appearing annually and she has continually delivered her talent and creativity to her home town. A native Santa Monican, she is now one of America's foremost rising female choreographers. Ms. Barak spent a decade dancing for New York City Ballet and choreographing for the School and Company of American Ballet at age 22. And her tenacity has paid off.
