I was anxious to get back to the theatre after the pandemic hiatus on two levels - lingering fear of the 'Rona versus my life-long love affair with what is for me the greatest artistic performance genre of all: Musical Theatre. Tony Award-winning La MaMa presents the all-women clown troupe Clowns Ex Machina in the world premiere of THE BAD'UNS: CLOWN ACTS OF CONTAGION, created and directed by Kendall Cornell in collaboration with the ensemble, running November 7 - 17, 2019 at La MaMa's Downstairs Theatre, located at 66 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and the Bowery in New York City. Previews begin November 7 for a November 9 opening.

Nickelodeon's HENRY DANGER THE MUSICAL to Debut July 27

Kid Danger (Jace Norman) and Captain Man (Cooper Barnes) will face their biggest challenge ever in Nickelodeon's hour-long episode, Henry Danger The Musical, airing Saturday, July 27, at 8:00 pm (ET/PT). The special, which features 26 original Broadway-style songs, marks the return of the villainous Frankini (Frankie Grande) who puts a musical curse over the town of Swellview, while Kid Danger and Captain Man are forced to find a way to stop him.

The Academy Invites 842 To Membership; 50% Are Women

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is extending invitations to join the organization to 842 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures. The 2019 class is 50% women, 29% people of color, and represents 59 countries. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2019.

It's always a joy to take a stroll down 'Avenue Q,' Broadway's Tony Award winning musical soon to be ending a fifteen year run in New York City and currently being presented at the Cultural Arts Playhouse in Syosset. Audiences are still flocking to the numerous productions of this crowd-pleasing sensation popping up all over the globe. The Cultural Arts Playhouse admirably delivers the hysterical 'Sesame Street for adults' musical, faithfully sticking to the original concept and adding it's own special touches here and there keeping it fresh and exciting.

Nickelodeon's Hit Series HENRY DANGER Hits Landmark 100th Episode, Stands as Network's Longest-Running Live-Action Sitcom

Nickelodeon's Henry Danger, the number-one live-action show on TV with K2-11 and K6-11 (through 11/28/18), will pass the 100-episode mark, with an additional ten-episode pickup announced today. The order brings the series' total to 117, making HENRY DANGER Nickelodeon's longest-running live-action sitcom. Nickelodeon is currently airing HENRY DANGER season five.

The passion this cast has for their production is evident through their dedication to diving head first into the emotional narrative and embodying characters faced with painful pasts, experiences and revelations.

Nickelodeon, the number-one network for kids, announced today that RISE of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the reimagined 2D-animated series, has been greenlit for a second season with 26 episodes. The action-comedy follows the band of brothers, Raph, Leo, Donnie and Mikey, as they discover new powers and encounter a mystical world they never knew existed beneath the streets of New York City. Season two will begin production this fall at Nickelodeon's headquarters in Burbank, Calif.

TWISTED Comes To The Point Theatre!

TWISTED: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier is coming to New York City! The popular YouTube musical with music by Book of Mormon veteran AJ Holmes, book by Eric Kahn Gale, Matt Lange, and Nick Lange, and lyrics by Kaley McMahon, is being produced by Makes Sense Theatrics this May. After a sold out run last year at The Producer's Club Royal Theatre, they are returning with a full production at Open Hydrant Theatre Company's Point Theatre. This is the second of many future productions of Twisted to play the city, building up for a potential Off-Broadway run. Makes Sense Theatrics produces new and upcoming comedy projects and brings them to larger audiences, along with Twisted, this year they are producing Bill and Ted's Excellent Talk Show which is to play the PIT Loft May 26th.
