“Sometimes the Devil doth preach.” In a winter season that has arguably gone too light on Shakespeare, it is nonetheless fitting that the final production is a brand new version of John Webster’s bloody tragedy. Dominic Dromgoole’s production opened the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse ten years ago, and now Rachel Bagshaw is on board to direct it on its return to the replica Jacobean theatre.

From two associate directors of Punchdrunk, One Night, Long Ago is an evocative walk through a mind palace which reveals more and more as the journey continues. With an audience of only 15 for each show in the venue used for Swamp Motel’s immersive show Saint Jude earlier this year, it’s a setting which builds in intimacy right from the off.
Rehearsals Begin for National Theatre's Touring Production of JEKYLL & HYDE for Schools

Rehearsals have started for the National Theatre’s upcoming touring production of Evan Placey’s radical reimagining of Jekyll & Hyde. Following the success of the Jekyll & Hyde schools tour in 2022, the production will be seen by students from 60 state secondary schools across the country from 8 January – 16 March 2024.

Fuel has announced that David Farr's new play A Dead Body in Taos will receive its world premiere this autumn at Wilton's Music Hall following preview performances at Bristol Old Vic. Directed by Rachel Bagshaw the production is part mystery, part sci-fi epic and part love story. Bagshaw is joined by designer Ti Green and Video Designer Sarah Readman. The cast features Gemma Lawrence as Sam and Eve Ponsonby as Kath.

At the end of World War Two, Annie (Ruth Gemmell) and Isabella (Emma Paetz) are being interviewed in Poland by the Allied forces. The two women tell two sides of the same story: the former - a Commander's wife whose biggest dream when she was younger was to become a dancer but is forced into marriage - recalls her married life with her husband Frederick, the latter - a ballet dancer - explains how she was picked from a concentration camp because the Commander wanted a ballet dancer for his party.
