TheaterWorksUSA has announced their upcoming 2022 - 2023 season, including the national touring premieres of PETE THE CAT'S BIG HOLLYWOOD ADVENTURE, EL OTRO OZ, and THE LIGHTNING THIEF: TYA EDITION, along with returning favorites touring across the country.

TheaterWorksUSA  will bring Family Summer Theater back to New York audiences with the NYC premiere of El Otro Oz.

Keen Company Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein today announced Hear/Now: LIVE!, the second season of audio drama, a cross between the old and new - commissioned world premieres presented using the traditional tools of radio broadcasts featuring live foley sound effects and live original music.  

Christopher Ryan Grant and Jordan Hilario face off in a challenge with a monologue from THE TEMPEST accompanied by music from Michelle Rodriguez and Salomon Lerner, respectively. Jimmy Smits also performed Angel-Luis Pujante's Spanish translation of a monologue from THE TEMPEST.

One should plant their tongue firmly in cheek for this one. It is over-the-top, exaggerated, and farcical in the way of Urinetown, The Book of Mormon, and Something Rotten. The original music is quite good and rather entertaining. The content seems to be split between two camps some directed at the a?oeadult generationa?? of baby boomers, and some at their a?oemillenniala?? offspring. Not that the two can't or don't overlap. Several common stereotypes and clichés are targeted as the butt of many jokes so there is pretty much something that works for just about everyone. There are some fun moments that require thinking: a?oethat Greek figure of a daughter of yoursa??, a?oelet's light a match behind this cowa??; and some that are just plain in your face: a?oemaybe the earth doesn't like an enemaa??. Some, I really just did not understand: a?oejust because you have the same feet doesn't mean you have the same legsa??, nor why it is supposed to be funny. That's when I realized it was best to simply let go and enjoy the silliness that abounds.

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in downtown Pittsfield under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd, is proud to present the world premiere musical Fall Springs. I am eager to implement what we have learned and to be able to grow from the first edition of the EARTH workshop series. I am looking forward to seeing choreographer Jordan Ryder's creation, and especially to continue the dialogue about what we can do to avert the crisis of global warming.

Bryant Park is located behind the New York Public Library in Midtown Manhattan, between 40th and 42nd Streets & Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The annual Bryant Park dance series will feature acclaimed contemporary dance choreographers on five back-to-back summer Fridays in June and July; open to the public, there is no admission charge. Today Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein of the Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Keen Company announced the Twelfth Season of Keen Teens. This season's offerings will be Winifred & Myrtle Go to High School by Leah Nanako Wrinkler, directed by Michael Goldfried; Around 2 by James Anthony Tyler, directed by Estefania Fadul; and The Caribbean Queen with book & lyrics by Jamie Cowperthwait, music & lyrics by Salomon Lerner, directed and choreographed by Ilana Ransom Toeplitz with musical direction by Salomon Lerner. An-Lin Dauber will provide scenic design, with costume design by Karen Boyer, lighting design by Kate August and sound design by Karl Berntson.
