FX Picks Up New Limited Series DEVS

21CF Global Inclusion will begin its third annual Fox Directors Lab (FDL) program on the Fox Studio Lot in Los Angeles in August. FDL is a highly selective program designed to nurture experienced television directors who have diverse voices, backgrounds, and life experiences.  The goal of the program is to create a strong pipeline of well-rounded talent for potential staffing on Fox television series. 

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment announced an assortment of edge-of-your seat television series' soon to be available on Blu-ray and DVD.  The truth is closer than ever with the September 18th release of The X-Files Season 11 on Blu-ray and DVD.   And get ready for the first season of the newest nail-biters coming to DVD:  9-1-1 and The Gifted on September 25th, and The Resident on October 2nd.

July 24 marks two years until the Opening Ceremony of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and NBC Sports will celebrate the occasion with a week of Olympic sport programming across NBC, NBCSN, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, and numerous digital platforms that features some of Team USA's brightest stars. Tokyo, which hosted the Olympics in 1964, will host the Games in 2020 for the second time.

Today, the American Horror Story social media accounts shared a new image revealing the highly-anticipated theme for the eighth season. The upcoming season has been confirmed to be a crossover between Murder House (season 1) and Coven (season 3). Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, and newcomer Joan Collins are all set to star in the upcoming season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Murphy has cast Laura Dreyfuss (DEAR EVAN HANSEN), Zoey Deutch (Netflix's Set It Up), Lucy Boynton (Bohemian Rhapsody), and Rahne Jones in his upcoming comedy The Politician. They join Barbra Streisand and Gwyneth Paltrow the upcoming hourlong comedy starring Ben Platt that landed at Netflix with a two-season order. The four will also be series regulars.

Producers David Stone, Scott Rudin, Patrick Catullo, Aaron Glick, and Ryan Murphy have announced that the hit Broadway production of Mart Crowley's groundbreaking play, THE BOYS IN THE BAND, has recouped its $3.5 million investment in just 11 weeks, with four weeks still remaining in the show's 15-week limited run.

FX has renewed the groundbreaking dance musical series Pose, it was announced today by John Landgraf, CEO of FX Networks and FX Productions. The second season of Pose will debut in 2019 on FX.

The Actors Fund announced today that The Boys in the Band has added a Special Midnight Performance for The Actors Fund. This benefit performance will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 11:59 pm at the Booth Theatre.

Playwright and activist Larry Kramer just penned an opinion piece for the New York Times, in which he explains why the future looks bleak for the LGBTQ community. He writes:

Belle Shouse ('A Million Ways to Die in the West,' 'Secrets & Lies'), Teagle Bougere ('A Night at the Museum,' 'The Pelican Brief'), Rana Roy ('Life Sentence,' 'Switched at Birth'), Isabella Amara ('Wilson,' 'Spiderman: Homecoming'), Molly Price ('Bloodline,' 'Feud: Bette and Joan,' 'American Crime Story: Versace') and Megan West ('This is Us,' 'How To Get Away With Murder') have been cast as series regulars in the forthcoming scripted series 'Queen America,' on Facebook Watch, Facebook's new video platform. This new series stars Oscar and Tony award-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones (Vicki Ellis). 'Queen America' is created, written, and executive produced by Meaghan Oppenheimer ('Fear the Walking Dead').

The official Facebook page for American Horror Story has shared the premiere date for the highly anticipated eighth season of the Ryan Murphy/FX hit franchise. The post (see below) reads 'Not Long Now' followed by the release date, September 12, 2018.

On Monday, June 25, Ellen Barkin, Eric Bogosian, Edie Falco, Gideon Glick, Josh Hamilton, Lee Pace and Mark Ruffalo appeared in a one-night-only reading of Larry Kramer's The Destiny of Me, to benefit The New Group.  Trip Cullman directed with an introduction by Tony Kushner.
