Following its debut on PBS's Great Performances in May, the official proshot of Broadway's Girl From the North Country will be making its way to physical media in the UK.

PBS Great Performances has released a new video highlighting the new proshot of the Tony Award-winning musical Girl From the North Country. In the video, director and playwright Conor McPherson, orchestrator Simon Hale, and movement director Lucy Hind all discuss the production and the challenge of bringing Bob Dylan's songs into 1930s Minnesota. Watch the video!

Girl From the North Country, the Tony-award winning musical featuring the songs of Bob Dylan, will be coming to PBS this May. The live capture of the Broadway musical will premiere as part of Great Performances on Friday, May 23 at 9 p.m. ET on PBS.

In season two, Julia and her devoted husband Paul return from Simca’s home in France to find that her success has changed everything. During the interview, the stars reacted to their Tony nominations, revealing how they found out, and detailed their meeting with Bob Dylan, whose music is used in the show.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul visited Girl From The North Country on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre this evening. Prior to the show, she visited with the cast and came onstage to give brief remarks about Broadway’s resilience and the comeback of New York City.

Today, it was announced that the North American Tour of the acclaimed Girl From The North Country, nominated for 7 Tony Awards including Best Musical, will have its technical rehearsals and tour premiere at Hennepin Theatre Trust's historic Orpheum Theatre in the Fall of 2023. 

The season one cast included Sarah Lancashire as Julia, David Hyde Pierce, Bebe Neuwirth, Brittany Bradford, Fran Kranz and Fiona Glascott. Guest stars included Isabella Rossellini, Judith Light, Robert Joy, Erin Neufer, Jefferson Mays, James Cromwell and Adriane Lenox.
