The Axelrod Performing Arts Center reopens its doors again with live musicals for its 2021-2022 season. Their first show is A Bronx Tale: The Musical, which opens on October 29. This production is directed by Broadway veteran Richard H. Blake.

Based on Oscar nominee Chazz Palminteri’s play and subsequent film, A Bronx Tale is set in an Italian American neighborhood in the Bronx of the racially charged 1960s.

The Palace Theater is kicking off the 21-22 Webster Broadway series in a big way with the legendary Chazz Palminteri  presenting his one-man tour de force,  the semi autobiographical, A BRONX TALE for two performances October 1 and 2 at 8:00pm. 

Sondra James (nee Weil) the Film, TV and Theatre actress whose resume includes Ben Affleck, Joaquim Phoenix, Robert DeNiro, Christopher Lloyd, Mike Birbiglia, Stephen Colbert and so many more died at the age 82 on September 12th at her home in New York City surrounded by family and friends following a 5 month battle with Lung Cancer.

The Palace Theater is throwing its doors wide open to the public beginning October 1, to begin its 100th Anniversary Season and what a celebratory schedule of shows is planned! 

Comic sensation Sebastian Maniscalco will be the first comedian to perform at New York’s newest venue, UBS Arena, located on the border of Queens and Long Island in Belmont Park, on December 27, 2021.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Rhinebeck Writers Retreat will host nine weeklong in-person residencies for 23 musical theatre writers of nine new musicals between June 27 and August 29.  Writers include Tony-nominee Beth Malone, Emily Saliers of Indigo Girls; Jonathan Larson winners Avi Amon, Sara Cooper, Ty Defoe, and Anna Jacobs and more.

On May 1st, Master Teacher Richard Lawson will be joined by casting director Kimberly Hardin. Twenty actors will be given the opportunity to have their self-tape auditions assessed and redirected by Mr. Lawson and Ms. Hardin. Classes take place Saturday mornings at 10 AM PST via Zoom.
