Cancer Support Community Los Angeles (CSCLA) 5th annual Gilda Gala on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the InterContinental Century City honored Ken Jeong, Dr. Annette Stanton, and Bedford Breast Center. The event benefited the comprehensive free of charge services, for cancer patients and their families, that CSCLA has provided since 1982.  The annual Gilda Gala is named for the late, legendary comedian Gilda Radner, an early participant and supporter of the CSCLA mission, with the belief that no one should face cancer alone.

The American Veterans Center's annual broadcast special in honor of Veterans Day, American Valor: A Salute to Our Heroes, will once again return to television this year. Emmy Award nominated actor/comedian and veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Rob Riggle, will reprise his role as host for the evening, paying tribute to our service men and women spanning from World War II to the present day. Noted celebrities will lend their voices to tell the stories of service and valor, including Tery Crews, John Cena, Lauren Fishburne, Gary Sinise, Mike Rowe, Allison Janney and Clint Eastwood.  Joining American Valor as a presenter of these stories of service and sacrifice is Kyle Chandler, Ben Foster, Kellie Pickler, and Charlie Weber along with White House Correspondents Kyra Phillips (ABC News) and John Roberts (Fox News).

The Hollywood Film Awards announced today that the critically acclaimed worldwide phenomenon, “Avengers: Endgame,” the all-time highest-grossing film in history, will receive the “Hollywood Blockbuster Award,” presented to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Executive Vice President of Production Victoria Alonso at the 23rd Annual “Hollywood Film Awards.” Additionally, award-winning musical artist and producer Pharrell Williams will be honored at the ceremony with the “Hollywood Song Award” for his song “Letter To My Godfather,” from the Clarence Avant documentary “The Black Godfather.” Actor and comedian Rob Riggle will host the “Hollywood Film Awards,” which will take place on Sunday, November 3, 2019, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA.

The Hollywood Film Awards announced today that some of this year's brightest talent from behind the camera will be honored at the 23rd Annual “Hollywood Film Awards.” Writer/Director/Producer Bong Joon Ho will receive the “Hollywood Filmmaker Award” for the Palme d'Or winner “Parasite,” which opened to record-breaking box office and is being hailed by critics as one of the best movies of the year. Emma Tillinger Koskoff, longtime producing partner of Martin Scorsese, will be receiving the “Hollywood Producer Award” for “The Irishman.”  Critics have been calling the film a masterpiece since opening the New York Film Festival.  It is one of several films Koskoff has produced this year. James Mangold will receive the “Hollywood Director Award” for “Ford v Ferrari,” which already has audiences buzzing with excitement and Anthony McCarten, whose words have paved the way for many award-winning acting turns, will receive the “Hollywood Screenwriter Award” for “The Two Popes.” Actor and comedian Rob Riggle will host the ceremony, which will take place on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA.

ABC today announced the new season pickup of “Holey Moley,” following its successful “Summer Fun & Games” debut on the network earlier this year. In the show's second season, set to air in summer 2020, the world's most extreme mini-golf obstacle course will return as all-new competitors take on daring new challenges in an attempt to win a cash prize. The season two course will be bigger and better than ever, featuring all-new holes, and bringing more drama, trick shots and hysterically impressive wipeouts. Rob Riggle and Joe Tessitore will return as color and play-by-play commentators, respectively, while Jeannie Mai will resume her role as sideline correspondent. Disney Junior has ordered a third season of Emmy Award-nominated series 'Fancy Nancy' ahead of its season two premiere on FRIDAY, OCT. 4 (11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. EDT), on Disney Channel and in DisneyNOW. Today, USA Network announced the pickup of STRAIGHT UP STEVE AUSTIN, a unique interview-based series hosted by retired WWE legend 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin. The seven-half hour episode series, produced by Wilshire Studios with Steve Austin and Dave Barsky ('Dirty Jobs') as executive producers, will air on USA Network on Mondays at 11/10c following WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW, beginning August 12.

Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, hosted a star-studded opening night last evening for The Public Theater production of Tiny Beautiful Things starring Academy Award-nominated writer and actress Nia Vardalos, who reprises the role of Sugar for the Playhouse production. Vardalos originated the role of Sugar at The Public Theater under the direction of Thomas Kail.
