Disney’s The Lion King transposes this message from screen to stage through an international collaboration of talent that supercedes the strength of the 1994 animated film from which it came.

While at times THE LION KING seems like a note for note repetition of the movie, what pushes the musical into new territory is the costume design, a stellar group of actors, and of course, an empowering soundtrack.

Based on Disney’s 1994 animated film musical of the same name, The Lion King tells the story of Simba, a young lion who is supposed to succeed his father, Mufasa, as King of Pride Rock. But when Simba's uncle, Scar, kills Mufasa, Simba runs away from home after being tricked into thinking that he was responsible. As he comes of age, Simba learns some valuable perspective to go back and take his rightful place as King.

Casting has been announced for the DPAC engagement of Disney's The Lion King.

Radio Galaxy, a new play by Michele Aldin Kushner, will be performed at invitation-only readings on Friday, February 2 at 11:00am and 2:00pm at the New York Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

Next week, 54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club and 2022 Tony Awards Honoree for Excellence in the Theatre, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond. 54 Below celebrates Broadway musicals and writers of the past and present, promoting an ongoing engagement with their work. 

In a statement released by the official show, Broadway's The Skin Of Our Teeth has cancelled its matinee performance for today, May 14th at 2pm. It reads, 'Due to illness, the following performance of The Skin of Our Teeth has been CANCELLED: Saturday, May 14 at 2pm. The next scheduled performance is tonight, Saturday, May 14 at 8pm. All tickets will be fully refunded at the point of purchase.' 

Lincoln Center Theater's production of Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning classic The Skin of Our Teeth, opened just last night at the Vivian Beaumont Theater. The production coincides with the 125th anniversary of Mr. Wilder's birth and also marks the Beaumont and Broadway debuts of LCT Resident Director Lileana Blain-Cruz.
