Broadway And Concert Star Christine Andreas Releases New Solo Album

Broadway award-winning star and concert star Christine Andreas will release her newest album Christine Andreas Piaf-No Regrets on PS Classics   on November 9th , 2018.  Christine is currently touring the U.S. and abroad with her much-acclaimed one-woman show Piaf, No Regrets.  This new CD was recorded in London this past summer with a 36- piece orchestra, conducted and orchestrated by Larry Blank and produced by Martin Silvestri. Singing both in English and in French, Andreas draws from her one-woman show, where she was   lauded by The New York Times...' Andreas's ravishing voice with its rapid vibrato, metallic edge…(and) snapping emotional electricity, has made her a potent interpreter of Piaf.'

Legendary Songwriters, Classic Popular Singers To Be Celebrated At The 29th Annual New York Cabaret Convention, October 9th-12th

For three decades, the unofficial launch of 'autumn in New York' has been marked by the annual Cabaret Convention of The Mabel Mercer Foundation. This year, their four individual concerts will once again be presented at 6 p.m. at the Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center, beginning Today, October 9thand running through Friday, October 12th. More than seventy diverse vocalists -- ranging in age from seventeen to ninety -- are scheduled to entertain; thirteen of these will make their New York Cabaret Convention debuts during the 2018 performances.

Photo Flash: The Hunter Theater Project Celebrates Opening Night of UNCLE VANYA

The Hunter Theater Project at Hunter College (Hunter College President, Jennifer J. Raab) will officially open the New York premiere of Anton Chekhov's UNCLE VANYA, directed by Richard Nelson, on Sunday, September 16 at the Frederick Loewe Theater (E. 68th Street between Lexington and Park Ave). Translated by Richard Nelson, Richard Pevear, and Larissa Volokhonsky, this production marks the first time renowned Russian literature translators Pevear and Volokhonsky have had a work premiere in New York City, following its world premiere at The Old Globe in San Diego earlier this year. UNCLE VANYA began performances on Friday, September 7 and runs through Sunday, October 14.

Rebecca Luker and Danny Burstein To Be Honored At 2018 Primary Stages Gala

Primary Stages announced today that its 2018 Gala will take place on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 6:30 pm. The event, which will be held at Tribeca 360º (10 Desbrosses Street), will honor Tony nominees Rebecca Luker (Mary Poppins, The Music Man) and Danny Burstein (Fiddler on the Roof, South Pacific); Eleanor Holtzman, trailblazing marketing executive and Primary Stages Board Member; and Jose M. Toro, Senior Director, Commercial Management, LeFrak Property Management.  

Premieres' Inner Voices 2018 to Showcase Three Solo Musicals, Starring Rebecca Luker and More

Premieres has announced the cast and creative teams for this season's Inner Voices, the biennial series of solo works featuring new teams of playwrights and composers. Performances begin on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 8:00pm for a limited run through Saturday, November 17, 2018 at The TBG Mainstage Theatre (312 West 36th Street - between 8th & 9th Avenues).

Actor Reno Roop Passes Away at Age 80

Prolific actor Reno Roop passed away Friday morning August 31 at his home in New York. He was 80. The cause of death was Parkinson's disease and Lewy body dementia.
