As its compelling live theatre production of Ordinary People comes to a close this weekend, Town Players of New Canaan has announced that its benefit performance of the show on Saturday, Feb. 25, raised $18,000 to support the New Canaan Urgent Assessment Program.

Town Players of New Canaan's upcoming live theatre production of Ordinary People is anything but ordinary. The play, based on the Oscar-winning movie starring Donald Sutherland, Mary Tyler Moore and Timothy Hutton, will open Feb. 17 and run through March 5 at the Powerhouse Theatre in Waveny Park.

English born writer, comedian, actor, radio and television presenter, Jason Manford, will tour Australia for the first time in April/May 2023.

The Town Players of New Canaan will present their third production of the 2022-23 season, JOYFUL NOISE, written by Tim Slover and directed by Nancy L. Mayer. The producer is Deborah Burke. The production will run November 18 to December 4 at the Powerhouse Theater at Waveny Park.

On Friday, April 8, The Town Players of New Canaan will open Noël Coward’s delightful comedy, HAY FEVER at the Powerhouse Theatre in Waveny Park as its next mainstage show for 2022. The curtain rises at 8:00 p.m. for a three week run. The production is directed by Deborah Burke and produced by Sheila Toner.

Before there was Drew...The name Barrymore was revered in the world of entertainment long before perky Drew Barrymore acted, produced, became an author, created a cosmetics line, and hosted a television show. This month, Town Players of New Canaan will present William Luce's play, Barrymore, an almost one-man show about Drew's grandfather, John Barrymore, starring veteran stage and screen actor Will Jeffries.

Sewer Rat Girl by Siobhan Gibbs will tour from its home in inner-city Brisbane to the bustling metropolis of Adelaide for this year's Adelaide Fringe Festival. Debuting an independent season in May 2021 as half of the RAT DOG DOUBLE BILL co-produced by Backbone, Sewer Rat Girl will be reaching new heights with the show's return to audiences this March 8-19 at My Lover Cindi.
