Student Blog: How to Support Your Local Libraries

Libraries are amazing because they hold so much content and knowledge, but they're also great public spaces that you can just visit for free. They're great if you want to be by yourself, or if you want to meet people with the same interests as you. If you feel the same way, I hope that you are encouraged to try any of these things, and that you continue advocating for what you are passionate about!

Review: DELIGHTFUL 'TWELFTH NIGHT' AT GAMM THEATRE

Twelfth Night is possibly Shakespeare's most brilliant comedy, packed with ribald wordplay, mistaken identities, and revenge, tied up in a tangled web of unrequited love. The slick, energetic production at the Gamm Theatre gets every bit of it. This is a dazzling show, stuffed with talent in every role, and staged with panache. It is Shakespeare made accessible, and it is deliciously funny. Not to be missed.

Review: PRISCILLA THE PARTY, HERE @Outernet

Priscilla the Party is based on The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, a movie from the 90s that was adapted into a musical and has since travelled the world. But, instead of a classic musical, guests are invited into the Cockatoo Club, standing in front of the stage that is able to be taken apart and moved around the floor.

Review: LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS at Ford's Theatre

Horrors! Ford’s Little Shop disappoints. Little Shop of Horrors is a cult favorite with catchy score of rock and doo-wop tunes. But the latest version at Ford’s Theatre underwhelms. The fun has run out.

Review: SONDHEIM TRIBUTE REVUE at Theo Ubique

No matter your preference, your favorite Sondheim shows will be represented in Theo Ubique's latest cabaret revue, which is as much an informative crash course in the composer's oeuvre as it is a heartfelt memorial to his rich life and lasting legacy. The production runs through April 28 at Theo's performance space in Evanston.

Student Blog: Cabaret Night: A Night At The Movies

Every semester, my course would host a fund-raiser cabaret where musical theatre students across the years get to perform, and I’ve had the pleasure of seeing them all since I came to university.

Returning to Orange County, CA for a one-night-only concert at the Irvine Barclay Theatre, Monheit stunned the audience with her incredible talents, offering fresh live performances of superb tunes—including many from the Broadway stage—that are slated for her upcoming new studio album releasing this summer.
