What better way to celebrate Christmas, than a Broadway all-star original arrangement of iconic Mariah Carey holiday songs with a huge orchestra? The acclaimed Broadway Sings concert series will return to Sony Hall with a holiday spectacular on December 5th.

John Leguizamo appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers last night to promote his new movie, The Menu. During the interview, Leguizamo revealed that his new musical, Kiss my Aztec, will open on Broadway in 2023. Leguizamo also discussed playing Bruno in Encanto and 'second acting' Broadway shows. With support from the Rosenthal Family Foundation, the critically acclaimed 2018 Los Angeles production of The Diary of Anne Frank will return for a special limited engagement at Burbank's Colony Theatre. 'Every Good Boy Deserves Favour' is a political satire that arrived on the NCPA stage for a rare performance. This spectacle was written by Tom Stoppard - the story of a political dissident in the Soviet Union. The play is accompanied by a 45-piece orchestra, performed by the Symphony Orchestra of India, which itself becomes a character of the play, adding to the crests and troughs of a prison-asylum's inhabitants.

Live with Rye & Friends on Broadway will continue its one-year celebration on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at the Triad Theatre at 8:00 pm. Joining the continuing anniversary show as special guests are musical theater singing sensation Robert Bannon and American Idol Season 19 Top 10 finalist Alyssa Wray.

Just as the 2022 season comes to a close, work for the 2023 season is getting underway at the Stratford Festival. Creative teams for next year's productions are coming into place and the casting department is busy confirming key roles for the season. Soon the workshops will be abuzz with artisans building the season's sets, props and costumes.

AEA featured prominently in industry news last week - voicing support for a casino project in Times Square, as the subject of a defamation suit from producer Garth Drabinsky, and their efforts to organize the dancers at Star Garden. All as the industry continues to work towards a new normal, while facing tremendous challenges on all fronts.

Last week A SIGN OF THE TIMES -- was announced for a new developmental reading. The release stated the musical had “several script revisions” and the librettist was now Lindsey Hope Pearlman. Absent was any mention of well-known comedy writer Bruce Vilanch, the original librettist, who had been developing the show for almost a decade.

Award-winning Dame Edna Impersonator, Scott F. Mason, will bring his stand-up comedy tribute show to Don't Tell Mama in NYC on November 4, 2022 at 7pm. 'Mouth to Mouth with The Dame' is directed by Tanya Moberly.
