The Berkshire Theatre Critics Association has announced the nominees for the 5th Berkshire Theatre Awards, known colloquially as The Berkies.

Barrington Stage Company has announced extensions for the first four productions of the theatre's 2021 season: Who Could Ask for Anything More? The Songs of George Gershwin, Chester Bailey, Eleanor and Boca.

From late June to early August, Great Barrington Public Theater will bring a diverse six-weeks to the Daniel Arts Center, at Bard College at Simon's Rock, Great Barrington. Barrington Stage Company has announced casting for the season’s outdoor productions Who Could Ask for Anything More? The Songs of George Gershwin and the world premiere play, Boca, and a line-up of Broadway stars who will perform in concert under a tent at BSC’s Production Center (34 Laurel Street).

“Who knew when we started our 10x10 New Play Festival ten years ago that it would become one of our most popular events of the year?” said Artistic Director Julianne Boyd. “We started with two weeks of performances and as of last year, we ran our 10x10 Plays for one month in the middle of the winter.'

Barrington Stage Company has announced casting for the 10-minute plays for the 10th Annual 10X10 New Play Festival, part of the 2021 10X10 Upstreet Arts Festival. BSC’s 10X10 New Play Festival will be filmed live on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage with no live audience and will stream by demand March 11–14 & 18–21, 2021.

Colt Coeur's 4-show fall season continues on November 21st, with a livestream performance reuniting  the 2019 world premiere cast of Stacey Rose's award-winning America v. 2.1, directed by Logan Vaughn. The cast includes Ansa Akyea, Jordan Barrow, Kalyne Coleman, Peterson Townsend & Peggy Pharr Wilson. Choreography/movement is by Kevin Boseman, sound design by Luqman Brown, and Norman Anthony Small stage manages.

The world premiere of America V. 2.1: The Sad Demise and Eventual Extinction of the American Negro is running now through June 30 at the Barrington Stage Company's St. Germain Stage.

This bold, brave, important, timely, and highly relevant story is a cautionary tale. In the spirit of Brave New World, 1984, and Fahrenheit 451 it is set in a dystopian society but as Playwright Stacey Rose, who was awarded the grand prize in BSC's Bonnie & Terry Burman New Play Award of 2019 for this piece, points out - in the 'not too distant future'. It has a lot to say.

Barrington Stage Company announced today casting for its 25th Anniversary season. Casting will include Elijah Alexander, Mara Davi, Carson Elrod, Joel de la Fuente, Mykal Kilgore, Alyse Alan Louis, Kate MacCluggage, Jeff McCarthy, Julia Murney, Jonathan Raviv, Debra Jo Rupp and more. There is something for everyone in this offering. As the event's title suggests, rather than a single fully produced multi-act production, audience members are served ten small plates, each one running about ten minutes by an ensemble cast of six that includes BSC returnees Peggy Pharr Wilson, Keri Safran, Robert Zukerman and welcomes Sarah Goeke, Michael Fell and Deshawn Mitchell. Directing credits are split equally between BSC Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and returning for his third year, Matthew Penn each responsible for five of the pieces.

To pun the title of the current hit show on the Boyd/Quinson Main Stage, Debra Jo Rupp is an esteemed member of 'The Royal Family of Barrington Stage Company' inasmuch she is a BSC Associate Artist. She is brilliant in The Cake!
