Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, has revealed its inaugural season in the company’s new home at 1012 Church Street in Downtown Evanston.

But before that OH, MARY! run, John is coming to NUMBERS HOUSTON to do a special all-day event for HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH. It's gonna happen on December 28th! It's all brought to us by ARTHOUSE HOUSTON, who were the folks who fought to save the River Oaks Movie Theater.

This holiday season Olney Theatre Center's Hello, Dolly! gives audiences a chance to see a rarely performed classic on the Roberts Mainstage, in an entertaining production that harks back to the Golden Age of Broadway musicals.

Porgy and Bess is a famous 'folk opera' created by George Gershwin, with a libretto by DuBose Heyward and lyrics by DuBose and Ira Gershwin. The work chronicles the life of a Black community on Catfish Row in Charleston and is known for its fusion of operatic elements with American folk music, jazz, and blues. The story focuses on the love between Porgy, a disabled beggar, and Bess, a woman seeking a better life.

The highly anticipated, multi-year North American tour will star Maya Drake as Ali, Kennedy Caughell as Jersey and Roz White as Miss Liza Jane. Additional principals and full ensemble casting will be announced at a later date.

The Library of Congress will host “StageStruck! VI: Women and the American Musical,” a free three-day conference May 14-16 featuring Jeanine Tesori, Shaina Taub, Helen Park, Julie Taymor, Camille A. Brown, and Marjuan Canady.
