BET Networks announced today that Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Janelle Monae, Tamar Braxton, Smokey Robinson, Karen Clarke Sheard and Wayne Brady are set to bring down thehouse at the Warner Theatre with a series of powerful and magnetic performances for 'BET Honors' 2014.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the third annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series. The series will celebrate seven critically-acclaimed seasons of Roundabout Underground productions. Roundabout Underground Reading Series is a five night event that will include a nightly reading of a new play written and directed by an emerging artist.

American music legend Paul Anka returns to Sydney for one night only on Sunday, March 9th, 2014 at The Star Event Centre, on his first Australian tour in forty years. Anka rocketed to stardom with his first global hit, Diana, at the age of sixteen and his massive catalogue now contains nine hundred song writing credits.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre announces the world premiere of The House that will not Stand, a historical comedic drama commissioned from award-winning poet-playwright and Oakland native Marcus Gardley. Sensuous, witty, heartbreaking, and uplifting - The House that will not Stand unearths a story about free women of color in 1836 New Orleans, where black Creole women entered into common-law marriages with affluent white men. When her wealthy lover mysteriously dies, Beartrice Albans' foundation of security hangs precariously by a thread. She is left to fend for her three unwed daughters in a world where freedom must be carefully negotiated. Told in a rich and lyrical river of words, this new play was developed through The Ground Floor: Berkeley Rep's Center for the Creation and Development of New Work. It's helmed by Patricia McGregor, whose many credits include the celebrated production of Spunk at California Shakespeare Theater. The House that will not Stand begins previews on Berkeley Rep's intimate Thrust Stage today, January 31, opens on Wednesday, February 5 and runs through Sunday, March 16, 2014.

In celebration of its 45th anniversary, Dance Theatre of Harlem's 2014 New York City season at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall was announced today by executive director Laveen Naidu and artistic director Virginia Johnson. There will be six performances from April 23 through April 27. The season will be highlighted by the New York City premieres of three new works. The first, past-carry-forward choreographed by Thaddeus Davis and Tanya Wideman Davis, considers the legacy of the Great Migration of African Americans from the agrarian South to the industrial North in the early part of the twentieth-century. The second is the acclaimed Dancing On The Front Porch of Heaven, which will be seen for the first time in New York since it was created in 1993 by Ulysses Dove for the Royal Swedish Ballet. Subtitled 'Ode to Love and Loss,' it was choreographed during a challenging period in Ulysses Dove's life, during which he lost 13 close friends and relatives, including his father. The New York premiere of Pas de Dix From Raymonda, choreographed by Marius Petipa with music by Alexander Glazunov, will be a special tribute to the late Frederic Franklin, who was an artistic advisor to DTH.

From "Stand By Your Man" to Aretha's "R.E.S.P.E.C.T," the international hit musical Respect: A Musical Celebration of Women returns to Phoenix for a limited engagement to celebrate the exciting story of women in the 20th century through more than 60 Top 40 songs. The show will run at Herberger Theater Center, 222 E. Monroe, from Feb. 5 to March 2.

On Monday evening, April 28, 2014, Marymount Manhattan College (MMC) will host the President's Gala, a very special evening honoring Grammy and Tony Award nominated composer, lyricist, and producer Frank Wildhorn. In celebration of Black History Month, the Sony Centre For The Performing Arts proudly presents Soweto Gospel Choir, South Africa's internationally renowned and award-winning choir. On Friday, February 21, 2014, at 7:30pm, for one performance only, the Soweto Gospel Choir will perform "Divine Decade" as part of their 2014 World tour, marking 10 years in music.
