With an eye to the future, MRT announced today five new commissioned playwrights: Vichet Chum, Kevin Kling, Melinda Lopez, Dael Orlandersmith, and Kalean Ung.

Actors Collaborative Toledo and The Village Players Theatre will collaborate to present a duo of area premieres in July on The Village Players stage. Ben Hur by Patrick Barlow will be performed on July 22-24 and Rocket Man by Steven Dietz will be performed on July 29-31.

Virginia Stage Company has announced their 44th season as Hampton Roads’ leading professional producing theatre company. Over 32 productions, including mainstage comedy The 39 Steps, and one-night performances from Mary Walsh, Gordie Johnson, Neil Osborne, Ofra Harnoy, Celeigh Cardinal, Julian Taylor, Rebecca Perry, and more.

The new Theatre Company season kicks off performances on September 9 and will feature seven mainstage productions including the musical The Color Purple, William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, and a new production of the audience-favorite The 39 Steps.

West Coast Players will present The 39 Steps adapted by Patrick Barlow from an original concept by Simon Corble and Nobby Dimon from the movie by Alfred Hitchcock and the novel by John Buchan, directed by Brian Yarbrough, from October 29-November 14.

The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis has announced its 2021-2022 Season, featuring two world premieres.
