Rehearsal images have been released for Hampstead Theatre’s production of Alan Plater’s Peggy For You, directed by Richard Wilson and starring Tamsin Greig in the title role, from 10 December until 29 January 2022.

Saviola was a Broadway actor who appeared in Chicago as Matron Mama Morton from June-December 2003. She made her Broadway debut in Nine in 1982, playing the role of Mama Maddelena, and understudying the role of Saraghina.

The Jimmy Awards has just announced this year’s 72 nominees from 36 regions around the US. The national student showcase will be streamed on Thursday, July 15th at 7:30 PM. The show will feature dynamic ensemble and solo performances and will culminate with two students presented with a Best Performance by an Actress and Best Performance by an Actor award with a total of 20 awards and scholarships available to participants.

These works explore the heritage and experience of African Americans, decade-by-decade, over the course of the twentieth century.

Playwright August Wilson is being honored by the U.S Postal Service with a commemorative Forever stamp, released today, Jan. 28. 

The U.S. Postal Service will honor August Wilson (1945-2005) with a commemorative Forever stamp in the Black Heritage series. The 44th stamp in the Black Heritage series honors the playwright who brought fresh perspectives and previously unheard voices to the American stage.
