The Board of Trustees of American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Terrie and Bradley Bloom Artistic Director Diane Paulus and Executive Director Diane Borger, raised a record $1.3 million in support of the theater's artistic, community, and education programs at a Monday, March 5 gala that honored A.R.T. Trustee Paul Buttenwieser with the theater's Angel Award. More than 400 guests attended the event at the Boch Center Wang Theatre.

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Alice Ripley, Emily Skinner, Josh Young, Emily Padgett, Nick Adams, The Skivvies and many more in a concert of Elegies For Angels, Punks And Raging Queens on Thursday, January 18 at 7:00 and 9:30. With book and lyrics by Bill Russell, who will also host and music by Janet Hood, who will serve as Musical Director, Elegies ... was inspired by personal stories of those affected by HIV/AIDS and has been performed around the world. The score features such songs as My Brother Lived in San Francisco, And the Rain Keeps Falling Down and Learning To Let Go.

Last night, Tuesday, November 14, the cast and crew of the hit off-Broadway show Spamilton celebrated an impressive 500 performances since opening in July of 2016. The Green Room 42 presents FAR FROM CANTERBURY: In Concert today, October 24, 2017, at 8:00 pm. Winner of 'Outstanding Overall Musical' at the 2015 New York Fringe Festival, FAR FROM CANTERBURY tells a reimagined version of 'The Wife of Bath's Tale' from Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales, and features book, music and lyrics by Danny K Bernstein (2017 Jonathan Larson Award Finalist), direction by Charlie Johnson (Beatsville, CHARLIE! Anything But Basic), and music direction by Jeff Cox. This new expanded story takes place once upon a time, in a land where fairy tales are considered current events, where we follow a shy young knight who dreams of one day having a fairy tale of his own. However, his world is shaken when he's suddenly accused of committing a violent crime against a princess from a neighboring kingdom. This concert presentation focuses on the first half of the story.

Philadelphia Orchestra, Kimmel Center, and Taller Puertorriqueño Raise Funds for Hurricane Relief with WEST SIDE STORY in Concert

The Philadelphia Orchestra, in partnership with The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and local community-based cultural organization Taller Puertorrique o working as part of Unidos PA'PR, has announced a fundraising initiative during next week's performances of West Side Story in Concert led by Yannick N zet-S guin in Verizon Hall (October 12-15, 2017) to assist with hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico. In light of the devastating impact of Hurricane Maria and the closely linked subject matter of the performance, collections will be accepted in the lobby of The Kimmel Center to be distributed through Unidos PA'PR a coalition of community organizations formed to raise funds for recovery efforts in Puerto Rico. The performances also will serve as a powerful reminder of the ongoing relevancy of Bernstein's work and the continued need for unity, embracing Puerto Rico as a U.S. territory, and awareness of economic conditions in the area.

Stephen Sondheim was in the audience at Barrington Stage Company's production of COMPANY the night before, but last night it was all about Joe Iconis and family appearing on the dark Mainstage for a one night concert as COMPANY rested for the evening. Mr. Sondheim was highly enthusiastic for the Julianne Boyd directed COMPANY and spent time with Aaron Tveit and the cast after the show. It was an historic evening for the BSC community as Stephen Sondheim was generous with his praise for all involved with the production, which is the talk of the Berkshires this season.
