Elegies is a heartfelt collection of songs about the deaths of various people Finn has known, including some of his closest friends and family members. This work is a commentary on the rewards and woes of being part of a family, a group of friends, and a society in good times and bad. Although the show is all about death and dying, it's no sad trip down memory lane. Never morbid, Elegies is touching, funny, and ultimately buoyant; floating on the spirits of those who inhabit its songs.

This month, The Studio Theatre™ Tierra del Sol (806 San Marino Drive, The Villages, FL) will open its first production of its fifth season, 9 to 5 The Musical, music & lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick. The production will be staged at The Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center (1051 Main Street, The Villages, FL). 

The Studio Theatre Tierra del Sol will present its fifth Staged Play Reading: Round Table a sort of LARP by Liba Vaynberg.

Written by Tony Award-winning composer William Finn, this 5-person show is inspired by the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. In January, The Studio Theatre Tierra del Sol (806 San Marino Drive, The Villages, FL) will open its third production of its fourth season, the five-time Tony Award winning musical, Assassins.

Over the last two decades, our country has grown more and more divided. The effects have been taken out on families, politics, social class, and the culture at large. No matter your affiliation, we all have the topics we want to avoid over Thanksgiving dinner. This season at The Studio Theatre we have chosen four stories that search for unity in a nation fighting for common ground. The titles we chose for this upcoming season convey important relationships hurt and broken by divisive opinions of loved ones. Through listening, can we reach across the divide? Honolulu Theatre for Youth's 64th Season culminates in a new musical rendition of the classic children's story about a puppet that longs to be a "real" boy.  The playful new musical features an original score, dancing marionettes, crafty animals and a nose that stretches over a yard when Pinocchio tells a fib. Woven throughout is the theme of sincere love between a parent and child and the importance of telling the truth.  The show is appropriate for children aged 5 and up.
