What goes into making the music of our favorite Broadway shows? How do Broadway composers make our favorite characters sing and our favorite scenes come alive? BroadwayWorld is finding out with Notes on a Score.
Today we continue the series with Drew Lachey and Lea Lachey, who are bringing a totally new musical experience off-Broadway. Label•less features an original score spanning rock, pop, and R&B, plus hit songs like “Born This Way” and “Rise Up”. Watch in this video as they unpack crowd favorite, "Do Better," performed by Micah Day, Paola Marcías, and Cayla Nicole Harris.

Early versions of the show included all covers. "Our show takes pop, R&B, jazz, choral numbers," explained Drew. "There's a little bit of everything from a lot of different styles. As we started to sit down and come up with original songs, we kind of wanted to keep that same feel. We still have six covers in the show. And then we have 10 original songs by a variety of writers, which makes it stand out even more."
